Barber Leonard Sargent Slaughter Harris Crenshaw-Dickson It will be interesting to see where Waites and George play and if they move inside would they start over the guys I have listed. Will a signee make waves or even a second year guy like Kearney. We heard the staff was high on Williams and is there still another portal guy coming in? Numbers are at 16 and target number is 15 for OL on ships.
Did Waites play inside at all this year? I assume we'll portal another OT, but if those are our numbers, it makes me think we won't.
Looks good. I'd expect this lineup to be above average and hopefully Fitzgerald makes a BIG difference in strength.
Im hearing. That the staff ilikes the young guys, they need to play. We may see more rotation at least in the early games to see who rises to the top.
If the young guys transfer after next year you know there is an environment issue. Hopefully now that they have all their own players from HS you have more loyalty
George needs to move inside for sure. He would likely do better there. He struggled quite a bit at OT.
Over half of the HS recruits from the first Napier class are gone. It doesn't appear what regime recruited/signed them matters much.
We need a surprise or two from the OL, IMO. Barber wasn't a starter his RS freshman season...He came in after an injury and earned freshman AA honors. We need 1-2 players to have a big off-season jump like that, and then the line will be "ok".
Hoping in 2nd Year at LT Barber takes that step. I think he’s better at RT. I still think we may see us pick up one more OL in portal. George will after slide inside and be our third guard I think. I also think Waites as a potential to be our second right tackle. Does offer us versatility with George and Waites as they can both play inside and outside although I would prefer both of them inside. It’s possible Westphal is in 2 deep early at Tackle.
Transition class, put together on short notice so it's pretty common. PLUS we now have to add in transfer portal mania. Not a good recipe to retaining a large % of a class
Sure, but the supposition was that at least part of the reason for the potential environment issue and portalling out was because players were the other guys recruits. Just looking at Napier's first class proves that isn't completely the case.
True...but I'm not sure that anybody signs a transition class that largely stays intact. Just not enough time for relationships and evals
