Was this guy a former UF commit?. I recall some 8 years ago a husky home hitter we had a commit from. The guy attended a hitting clinic where he consistently knocked the ball over the fence. The team that signed him reconfigired their offer and he was gone. Is this the same guy?
The only Prince Fielder I'm aware of is the from Melbourne/Eau Gallie area but was drafted out of high school in 2002 and retired from the majors in 2016. He was a slugger, but had committed to Arizona State for college, but opted to go pro right out of high school. Prince Fielder - Wikipedia
That’s him @ocalaman — he played HS ball for Florida Air Academy out of Melbourne-he was a freshman in 1999 just as Alan was a sophomore at Marianna HS. I remember him being the only English speaking player on that team. Oh, and MHS won the State Championship that year too by defeating Tampa Catholic 1-0 (Alan-CG) and FAA 7-4. Prince’s Dad is Cecil Fielder of the Detroit Tigers MLB fame.
