Just got back from a warehouse store where I paid $15.50 for 3 dozen eggs

 

Repeat: if animals spread deadly viruses to humans, as many animals as necessary must be killed, egg prices to follow.

 

That was $8 when Biden was President. That's almost 100% inflation in 1 week of Trump being, and that works out to 5200% inflation a year. Don't blame me, I voted for Harris.

 

Wasn’t $8 here. Last time I bought eggs I paid a a little over $9 for 1.5 dozen. Today I paid $15.25 for 3 dozen at a warehouse store

 

Eggs were like $3.00 a dozen, probably cheaper at warehouse stores. Trumpflation is ruining America.

 

When do the Republinuts start explaining how H5 Bird Flu is affecting chickens and eggs, and how none of it is $Trump's fault? Should be any day now.
Will they then allow the USDA, FDA, and CDC to give proper advisories to the public?

And just an FYI, there have been outbreaks in herds of dairy cows as the virus mutates and spreads. Food supply issues, anyone?

Brooke Rollins, the $Trump pick for Ag Secretary, says she has "a lot to learn" about bird flu. Same woman who says she will "listen and follow" farmers in implementing $Trump's immigration policy.

Egg Prices Are Soaring

Egg prices continue surging across the country as the ongoing bird flu outbreak wreaks havoc among U.S. flocks, affecting states that had largely escaped the virus in 2024.

The vertiginous rise of egg prices is undermining President Donald Trump's campaign promise to bring down the cost of living—and specifically the cost of the beloved staple—once elected, as experts say prices will likely go even higher throughout the year.

The main reason behind the rise in egg prices is a dramatic cut in supply due to the ongoing bird flu outbreak in the U.S. The outbreak began in February 2022 and has led to the killing of more than 111 million birds across the country, most of which were egg-laying chicken. In the past month alone, nearly 13 million birds have been infected or culled, VOX reported.

The bird flu outbreak, despite efforts to contain it, is getting worse. In 2024, the virus, H5N1, began circulating among U.S. dairy cows. Earlier this month, Louisiana health officials reported the first human death in the U.S. from bird flu.

But an expected rise in inflation is also playing a part in the surge in egg prices. In its price outlook, the USDA expects prices for all foods to increase by 2.2 percent this year, with grocery stores prices rising by 1.3 percent.
