Pretty decent assessment of Anthony Richardson as an NFL prospect - the good and the bad.

The way some QBs run makes a difference.

AR tends to use his speed size and will try to run over and over-power tacklers, he’ll go down by taking big hits. The shifty and slippery ones get their yards and do not take the high impact hits (but they tend to wear out their knees)

As I mentioned before, he’s just not fast enough to run by them in the NFL like when he was in college. In this latest he couldn’t get by the tackler and was wrapped up and thrown the ground.

Who’s piling on other than expressing frustration over his apparent fragility ?

I don’t recall similar posts expressing frustration over Tebow’s apparent inability to throw the ball.

Didn't I say this for more than a year? I love the young man but you can't fix a glass cannon. I've seen some of the best boxers of all time until they got hit and exposed their glass jaw. Richardson isn't going to last in the NFL, maybe 2 or 3 seasons with most of the time on IR. Yet, not a scout saw what I saw and health to me is just as important of a metric as stats.

You have great recall to remember GC posts from 14-15 years ago; I can barely remember what I posted yesterday. For me, I think Tebow made the crucial throws when really needed.

Another problem is the synthetic turf at Indy is so bad that the league is making them change it at the end of this season.

I remember those posts. Some very honest assessments on this board after his disastrous audition for the Patriots.

Bad analogy. Some of us are just frustrated that AR can’t seem to stay healthy.

Forgotten, Tim was almost uncannily accurate throwing deep.

Nevermind the fact that this is false... What exactly is your claim here? What is the cause of this supposed unfair treatment?

Tebow stayed 4 years and gave everything to the program. It's just a bad argument to question why people are generally more fervent fans of guys like Tebow, wuerffel and others than a guy who never reached his potential while wearing orange and blue, skipped his final year and opted out of the bowl game. People love the kid and his reported generosity with his time and friendliness with the public while here. They loved Dexter for playing in the bowl game when he could have sat. There is no mystery or nefarious reasoning for some of the frustration about his performance or surprise at his performance in the NFL right now when not hurt. If a very small minority expresses indifference about him in the pros there could be more than the reason often implicated by some here although I imagine it might shade some.

As for Tebow, Plenty of Gator fans acknowledged he struggled to read defenses in the NFL and a few like myself took heat because I actually thought he somewhat hindered our 09 offense because of it. Religious supporters aside, people generally thought he got a raw deal because as ugly as his game was he won when given a chance and then never got a legitimate chance again.

If there is a victim it's the over-hype about AR and thinking that those silly KPIs make an NFL QB. The NFL isn't immune to hype and salesmen too. They make mistakes every year in talent assessment. AR got his money, Purdy is getting crap.

As for Tebow, what could anyone say that the NFL wasn't?

Richardson is strangely un-athletic for a guy considered to be a freakish athlete. He’s definitely quick for his size but he doesn’t seem to have the kind of body control other running qb’s possess. Doesn’t seek to have the instincts to avoid hits and land safely. Not a good thing when there are linebackers and safeties who can catch him and smack him around. I won’t be surprised if he has a short career. Good dude though.
