Pretty decent assessment of Anthony Richardson as an NFL prospect - the good and the bad.

It's not hate man. Qb is a different beast. We have had WRs who were adequate on the field during their time at Florida turn into multi year NFL players sometimes at different positions no less like Dunbar as a DB. Driskel might be the only QB to parallel the potential jump AR would have to make to stick in the league. Other positions are loaded with outliers who looked less than NFL ready but then shined once in the league. QB not so much. I'll happily cheer the kid on and admit I was wrong if he succeeds because there is ZERO "hate" in my assessment. The kid was horrific at short and intermediate throws while also crawling into a shell at times as a leader. There just isn't much precedent if any for that at that position to suddenly flip it once in the NFL.

Thanks for the response. I'll say again that part of my post was attempting to answer why so many fans felt so disappointed (almost bitter) about AR.
I was attempting to say why I thought they felt that way. I share some (though not all) of those feelings.

But to answer your question about Dexter- IMO because QB is such a pivotal and visible position and DL is not.
I agree Dexter is a huge loss.

USFL QB at best. He's just like Tony Banks and his dog Felony, lot of NFL potential.

There used to be an ironclad rule that any QB who was successful at Florida would be a washout in the NFL. Since Muschamp, the opposite has held true, although not to the degree that any of them have set the world on fire. Our offense has been so dreadful during this post-Meyer era that NFL GM's know our QB's are leaving here without a fair chance to be evaluated. The jury's still out on anyone who leaves here.

The part where you say people are upset at AR for leaving because we need him is something I haven’t read here. I’ve often read that AR needs more time to develop which he does. Almost every single person also agrees he would be a fool not to go now and take the first round money. I think the gm that takes AR with his tip pick has lost his mind. Dexter did his time and probably wouldn’t make a huge leap next year, time for him to move on also.

Nobody is disagreeing with you and I don’t see a bunch of hate for Richardson. People just don’t think he’s going to live up to the draft pick. Stating the obvious is not hate

I was responding to another poster that said we needed him.

AR and Dexter have the exact same amount of time.

That’s definitely a possibility. He may be looking out for number one. It is what it is. Some guys bleed for their team and some do only what’s best for themselves.

Yes. AR was our second best QB since Tebow in 2022. If you are going to bash character you should come with something legit
