$1.85 gas would likely mean we were in severe recession or suffered some calamity.

It’s hardly something to root for. Obviously nobody likes gas “price shocks” like we had in early 00’s or 2022. But at some point prices are baked in and to go backwards puts people out of business or out of jobs.

    Tariffs were a net negative.

Tax cuts didn’t pay for themselves and prior to Covid, the economy was .01% better growth than Obama’s last term.

Wasn’t the type of leader needed to handle a pandemic.

Alienating our allies, and cozying up to dictators was and remains an odd one.

His admin was the one who initiated the quick withdrawal from Afghanistan.

As far as anyone can tell, the only substantial “policy” accomplishment was the tax cuts. Which doubled the deficits in “peace time” and set up higher structural deficits into perpetuity. That “deficit math” sort of gets lost in the wash of the deficit busting COVID fiasco, which was also disgracefully handled by that administration. Literally the only good thing they did was throw money at Operation Warpspeed.
