Great, I am worried we will try to transfer portal our way to wins. He better step up and get physical, competive players that can move their feet. We are so far away from being a decent team, and a young coach who is from the west coast, I was hoping for a better outcome and least be competitive, but we have bottomed out. Not enough good players. Now Ole Miss has a real coach who has fire in him. We have taken a chance with CTG, who needs to man up recruiting and use the NIL. The transfer portal got us Fudge, Jones, Lofton, Bonham and Richard. Richard is the only one to provide a steady game, the rest had flaws. We come out next year throwing lazy passes and have no inside game, well, we will have to pin the tail on the donkey! This year I reminisce years with guards that can get inside and finish, even shoot with consistency. We were doomed from the start, forwards and centers that can defend and control the middle, that we don’t have. An experienced coach would tell the players that don’t have a chance of playing next year due to not being up to the standard of a decent SEC team, to look elsewhere for playing time. I am with Saban, being mister nice guy only prolongs bad programs! We have put an another bad year of basketball in the books. Does Coach Napier’s team seemed explosive on offense, offense wreaking defenses and great special teams? Does CTG throw fear into other SEC teams or do they smile and know they are going to fatten up on the Gators. SS has two more years like these, we will have to cut off the head of the snake! St Johns and Ole Miss will need us on the schedule so their first stats will look good! We will be providing analytical stats that even we are losing more games than we win, somehow we have improved, LOL!!
I have finished venting on this end of year loss to another state rival licking their chops. CTG doesn’t understand the state of Florida or the SEC or he does and we are in trouble. Say it’s going to get better in the next decade, hope I’m still kicking. I can only laugh at how bad we looked on National TV. At the sports bar I was at, I ask for the Fla/UCF game, as it went midway through the second half, the bartender was pointing at the TV, the game we were playing, saying it was a blowout and someone ask to change to see some good basketball. I wanted to crawl out of the bar without anybody seeing my Gator shirt. One thing for sure, there is plenty of playing time for good players, good hunting CTG…. ps. I know you are not as bad as you look or as good as you look. We can only hope this trend, can be reversed.
What did the Bible say, you shall reap what you sow.... This is a lot of crap sowed over the last 10 years with blame to Foley and now Stricklin. I'm 57, soon to be 58. Not a lot of time left. Good thing I enjoyed and appreciated the good days because I damn sure don't think I'll see them again in my lifetime.
The job is so much tougher now than it was in 1997 or so when Billy was hired. The league is one of the best in the NCAA and gets better year after year. After Billy left, Foley decided to try to relive the past and go for broke again. It failed. It set us behind and sadly for Golden, he has to try to reverse this with little experience or resources. I genuinely feel sorry for him. I'm sure he will develop in time and be a winning college coach. The job he has to do here may beyond what he is capable of at this moment. That's not his fault. That's the fault of what hopefully will be our ex athletic director Scott Stricklin, who has a uncanny talent of bad hiring practices.
Yeah well I'm closing in on 64 with diabetes and heart issues.............not to mention we could all be on the recieving end from some nuclear bomb blasts, radiation poisoning or getting eaten by our neighbors should we survive the initial exchange, courtesy of our neighbors in the Russian Federation. Well, look at the bright side: mens baseball and womens softball - where would we be without spring sports?
