I was just responding to the poster referring to our performance against Utah last year in which was both our 1st game of the season, 1st game in this new system with with a new staff and 1st game with a brand new QB starting his 1st game as the designated starter. It goes with out saying things should presumably run a bit smoother than last year but like you said we'll see.

Last year the line had been together and AR was in his third year. It was a new system but this is three of five guys that met each other a few months ago and have several weeks of practices together. Offensive lines take time usually.

I like Utah and I liked their fans last year. No need to embarrass them but it sure will be nice to start off with a win.

Until I see otherwise, I agree with everyone that predicted a low scoring game. For us to win, we need to hold them to 14. I see us scoring 18. If we let them score more than that, we lose. I don't think we are built for a shootout (yet). Hope I'm wrong.

I believe it will be a good game and I believe and hope we'll be pleasantly pleased with our line play. Let's not forget our best olineman last year had never played with any of the guys on the oline before that Utah game yet he excelled. Let's hope we get the same type of play.

I’m not doubting that we will have a decent line, it’s just that even in the spring game, we never saw these guys line up together. Anticipation…. It’s making me wait.

I’m crossing fingers and hoping for a special teams score (that’s still allowed I think). Maybe a defensive score.

My point was Richardson Balled out! His game was incredible. It set too high a bar for him the rest of the season.

AR had some great running play reads. The 2 point conversion was amazing but passing wise I was not overly impressed by ARs game against Utah. 17 - 24 for 168 no tds no int. Not bad but certainly not in league with Kyle Trask. He was more effective running IMO.

I see Rising coming out to play and having a good game. Maybe it is PTSD from the past few years of seeing a bad defense.

    Ha ha.

We have too many unknowns-- and that's just on offense, such as:

    QB: Who knows???

Offensive line: too many bodies replaced; who knows??

Tight end: known, and not an asset.

Maybe our D will save the day, because of more depth and a new coordinator, but again, who knows??

    Da Yutes 24.

    Gators 17.

They are experienced and play as a team very well. It’ll be tough.

We didn't break 30, but then again the defense couldn't get off of the field in the 2nd half (Utah had consecutive drives of 9, 10, 11, and 10 plays). As for AR, he was effective overall but didn't exactly impress through the air (168 yards on 24 attempts).

They didn’t break 30 either against the worst defense we’ve ever had.
