Who has sat out a playoff game or a title game yet?

I expect 9 or more wins... so I'm not talking about my season prediction.

    Rick...what are you saying son?

Bowls are about the players, not the fans??? If the players wanted to play for the sake of playing, they could and probably would, get on the horn and set a time and place to gather for a pick up game with no fanfare, and just chuck the pig skin about the yard...

Ala$$$, fan$$$ move product, generate revenue$$$, and make the whole enterpri$$$e profitable for everyone involved.

    Ergo it I$ about the fan$, bc fan$ = $$$$, and that I$, what it$ all about.

    C'mon... you know this.

Yeah, the fans care about the origins (tourism committees... Lol) of the bowl games so much that they feel like these bowl games should not exist. Like I said, players care about these games and this fan (ME) likes every game that the GATORS play in... whether it's contrived by a "tourism committee" or not.

That's one thing I would like to see is consistency and being competitive. Not sure how I would feel if we beat UGAG but shit the bed against Miss. St.

And despite the noise, you're hardly alone. All that money doesn't come from no where, and it's not pissed away for nothing.

It's investment, with robust ROI, because...

    Fan$$$.

I'm saying that the players left on the team want to win every game they play, regardless. And the fans in that regard DO NOT MATTER.

That's interesting but on quick look I saw one player from Washington that had significant snaps that opted out. Haven't had a chance to look at why yet because I'm on a treadmill but I'm talking a 1st round pick that bypasses a title game because at the end of the day a trophy doesn't pay ones way through life.

I am glad you enjoy them. There is a fair amount of evidence to the contrary regarding the players caring but, of course, I'm sure some still do.

If the nfl had consolation games, would the stars play? I guess for a price.

As far as I can tell, every NFL game after a team has been eliminated from the playoffs is a “consolation game.” Sometimes the team decides to sit certain players in games such as these. But it’s a team decision. Players don’t get to just “opt out” of doing their job.

Could be as low as 6-6 with our SOS, or 9-3 if we are better than last year and make breaks instead of giving breaks away.

They did through the 60s. There was a "playoff bowl" bowl for third place. It ended with the merger. I was way too young to remember op outs.

Also NFL players want to meet certain contract incentives. It would not be wise for them to "opt out" even if they could.

Ehhh... I guess. I don't know, I don't get up in arms about guys sitting out. Anthony Richardson should have absolutely sat out that bowl game but CFP games are a different story.

I would prefer to see young guys get burn in the irrelevant bowl games because I like to see who we have coming back. No one outside of the real diehards remember Dante Fowler going off against ECU in the whatever bowl and in the grand scheme of things... who cares that he did?
