Okay, one thing that bothers me about these podcaster types... they seldom understand that fondling the damned microphone can be heard LOUD AND CLEAR... and it's annoying as hail.
Easy. Results. And spare me with the "Our schedules are tougher" response. They beat us the last two years. Their portal seasons were strong. According to Phil Steele... Position-----Florida----------FSU QB................28th..............33d RB................23d................19th WR...............21st...............23d OL................28th.................5th DL................41st................15th LB................26th................40th DB................21st..................7th ST.................25th................13th Using Steele as the basis of comparison, compare Florida's OL with FSU's DL and they smoke us. Ditto with FSU's OL with our DL. That gives their QB a lot more time than we give Graham. Combine that with us having to play at the erector set. Now, if you want to believe Phil is FoS regarding his rankings, that the AP ranks FSU 10th and Florida not even getting a vote, the Coach's Poll ranking FSU 10th and the Gators 38th, the cumulative College Football Ranking Comparison ranks FSU 12th and Florida 37th, and still think we are somehow equal, then you are wishing upon a star. It is one thing to be optimistic, or even hopeful. It's another thing to be delusional. Now, can a variety of things occur that would tilt the advantage to Florida? Of course! FSU's players may not pan out while ours do. FSU may have several key injuries while Florida doesn't. Add to this another dozen circumstances that ALL benefit the Gators. It is all possible. But is it likely, based on what we know now? Ask yourself this question.
Never said anything about the schedule and lol @ using Phil Steele. Trell is the SEC's 2nd leading returning rusher and he was in a 50/50 time share. You telling me he wouldn't start over Toafili or the Bama transfer? How in the world is FSU ranked 23rd at WR? Based on what? who? how? where? And how is their secondary 7th? Who other than a die hard can even name a Nole DB? Hell I am die hard college football fan and I can't really think of anyone other Azareh Thomas who got cooked up last year anyway. Those rankings are a joke man. Watch the tape and you tell me if what your eyes tells you matches up to those rankings.
5-7, but would love to be proven wrong. Just don’t have any faith that coaching or S&C have improved. Have to see results on the field to become a believer. It starts with Miami.
So you know more than Steele's army of analysts, none of whom have fanboi hopes? You watch film of FSU? Take off the O&B glasses.
I am as unbiased as they come. You might be the first person to ever accuse me of wearing O&B glasses. P.S. I watch more football than you think.
Who knows? Your prescience may see thing everyone else outside of Hogtown may not see. Time proves all things, but we have three losing seasons in a row and so many players that are largely unproven. I'll have to see chemistry on the field with players and staff before I jump on the "everyone but us are overrated" bandwagon...
So with a large talent advantage FSU won two close games in two years against under .500 florida teams? Cool. Speaking for myself, I'll reserve judgment on Napie until after this season given what he inherited and yes I think he screwed up plenty in the first two years. Norvell ducked what was a likely beat down in year one against us due to covid and then lost to a wounded duck coach his 2nd year against us. They barely improved year two. They went all in on the transfer portal because he couldn't recruit and they've done well since. It at least appears Napier has a much improved roster through recruiting and the portal this year while fsu lost a huge amount of their roster that won them games the past two years. Any optomism is based on some hope sure but also considering Fsu wasn't a juggernaut even with an NFL laden roster as well as the fact they have to hope their own mismatch new roster jells as well.... Seeing fsu as a potential win is far from "delusional" all things considered. Now expecting a win going into Texas or beating Georgia for the time being is delusional until we see definitive improvement and depth .
Miss State 2023: 5-7 2022: 9-4 2021: 7-6 Total: 21-17 Against P5 competition: 13-16 Florida 2023: 5-7 2022: 6-7 2021: 6-7 Total: 17-21 Against P5 competition: 10-20 If MSU is ass, what does that make us?!? And we're playing in Cowbell Hell. I agree that Florida appears to be the better team, but "better win" implies consequences if we lose. Better win or else?!?
