SEC was far stronger than the ACC through the SOS Era as well.

What will keep FSU out is all the tomato cans they play and their 6th yr senior being out. If they do happen to make the playoffs they’ll get blasted by Georgia.

Strength of Schedule - UF #4
    FSU - #50

To me, this suggests UF, at home, will be competitive with a tremendous chance to turn a season of disappointment into a launching pad to future success.

That's really it, isn't it? I'm not usually one to point to a single event and say "This is the one." In this case, though, there is a cumulative effect. Had we beaten Ark, LSU, or MZ this game wouldn't be a make or break in my mind. Considering that a loss = losing record & no bowl game as opposed to a win = .500 record + bowl game . . . this is a huge opportunity to squelch disappointment.

Oh, and ruin FSU's playoff bid . It really is a make-or-break game for the season and the head coach. Lose and this season is a failure, imo. Some will already consider it as such, but I'm content with > 5.5 ( ;) ) and a bowl.

Do we have a chance to beat the holes... Yes, only if AA can magically pull something out that can slow down or stop them, which will give us a chance to win.

We will need to be solid in all 3 phases.

I don't disagree, but by solid do you mean B, B+, A, or? And the $64,000, how much will the FSU offense wane with this backup qb? I'm expecting the FSU defense will play a very good game against our OL! Interestingly, the NCAA division 1 ranking is: Georgia 9, Utah 19, FSU 24, Tennessee 44, and Mizzou 48. The difference is the Gators get FSU at home like Tennessee. But, we have questions on the OL; and will Max Brown play well? Probably, a nail-biter!!!

With 2, one loss teams ahead of them? Hard for me to see that happen. They have to beat us and top 10 Louisville on a path to being undefeated. Granted, that will give them wins against only TWO ranked teams. But undefeated in a P5 > 1 loss in SEC, most likely.

I'm not arguing that they are better than Bama or the others, BTW. They aren't. If they played our schedule this year, they'd have 2-3 losses already.

If bama beats Ga and Texas wins out I'd say Texas has a bigger claim than Bama or ga since they beat bama and would also be a conference champ.
Somebody is probably not gonna be happy come selection day.

Logic and reason won't matter, IMO. Do you honestly think the committee would put Texas in over Alabama if Bama is the SEC champs? Never happen.

Probably right, but they would be more deserving imo and certainly over Ga if Ga loses to Bama.
All just speculation at this point. I'm just hoping for some new blood in the playoffs, otherwise I'll skip watching.....again.

Lol... the college football playoff committee will never let FSU into the playoffs knowing that they are without their starting QB... NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.

I'm interested to see how Max Brown plays. His senior year at a 3A Oklahoma school he posted 4k total yds with 61 total TD's. Could he be criminally underrated due to coming out of a small Oklahoma school? He seems to have the tools required, now let's see if he's got it between the ears.
