@bobbybaker86 - I seem to remember you being connected to the Miami program or maybe have good friends that are avid fans of the U ... or maybe you just visit their boards.

I'm curious what your connections are saying about the game. What are they most concerned about when they are on O and on D (I assume they are worried about their secondary)?

Every team has warts. What is their fan base most worried about?

As it relates to how I feel about the Gators.
We have a few less question marks than we did last year but they are big question marks IMO.
#1. Can we consistently protect Mertz
#2. Can we get pressure on the QB without blitzing
I don't think we win the game if we can't do #1.
If we can do both, we win by two scores.

I really have no idea if we can do either but I'm anxious to find out on Saturday.

    Hi 4Ros -
Not speaking for Bobby, but the Cane poders I listen to keep suggesting the U's secondary is the weak link.

    And playing in the Swamp.

CANNOT wait to walk up Lemerand and enter Gator Country this Saturday. I LOVE the heat, humidity, rain and the view of Florida Field. It is who we are.

The Game. We want it A LOT more than they. THAT is why we win.

IT IS GREAT TO BE A FLORIDA GATOR!

But on the other site the overwhelming majority are in typical arrogant preseason form and believe they will blow us out. They think our runningbacks are average and cite Wilson only having 500 yards receiving last year as indicative of a weak receiving corps.

Hope we get out to a fast start. Don’t want to see this become a barn burner close game. Hopefully the defense is vastly improved from last year. And hearing that Montrell is a full go is in our favor. Go gators!

Do their fans have any concerns about their O moving the ball?

I have never visited a Miami board and don’t know any Miami fans. Therefore I really don’t know what the knowledgeable Miami fans are thinking about their team.

I’ll be watching the matchup between our OTs vs the Miami DEs.

Consider the source. Miami fans are bottom barrel. They have no concerns. They are Uber confident in their transfers and they did bring In significant talent at wr and runningback. I don't know about them otherwise but again, their fans are beyond confident.

    here’s the thoughts:

    1. Mertz is a check down merchant

    2. Montrell can’t be THAT healthy to be a difference maker

    3. EW3 is getting too much hype for a guy who averaged 9 ypc last year

    4. The right side of our OL is a disaster

    5. We have no one who’s going to bring consistent pressure at the DE positions

    6. We have no one else at LB besides James

    7. they “conceded” that our secondary is better than theirs but some think our secondary outside of Marshall is “inexperienced”.

    8. Don’t believe Ward will be too affected by the crowd as he’s played on the road vs Washington and Oregon

    9. Think if they play clean football they pull away in the 2nd half due to their OL

    10. Still uneasy about Mario as a game day coach but think their better than us across the board

I forgot about our secondary. They knows theirs is a mess but they think ours is Marshall and no one else. I don't think they were very complimentary or concerned about it at all.

That was one of the dumbest plays I've seen called in a long time. But that game will not be that close.

IMO the game will be decided by our front 7. If we contain the run and place consistent pressure on their qb we will win. Defense will decide this game.

How many times did he get way with grounding? 3 or 4 times at least. And then we get a first down, Gus gets a replay, and it was clearly a first down by the Gators yet that Auburn (officiating) crew still overturned our first down and forced us to punt. That was a loud game... even though I was watching on the TV... Plenty of ups and down in that game.

Everyone is talking about their DBs being the weak link, and I hope it's true.

Considering recent seasons, this game is very important. Set the tone, beat the canes! Go Gators!
