If he's healthy enough to come back, it's in his interests to come back ASAP regardless of his affinity or lack thereof for Napier. Sounds like a narrative you've created off the top of your head, as if his quick return from the hammy is somehow tied to his undying admiration for Billy Napier. Come on.

As for being disappointed in his time with CBN, you're right, we don't know and I wouldn't suggest that we do know. But it's not a ridiculous thought considering AR's comments regarding Napier and staff, the Etienne debacle and more. We've seen more than once how a player can go from glad to mad with this coaching staff. Does that mean Lagway will or has? No, but it's not a ridiculous notion either. In fact, I would almost assume Lagway is more willing to transfer given the drop off in recruiting we've seen. I seriously doubt he committed to UF with the idea our recruiting classes would be 15th out of 16 in the SEC.

You have a serious reading comprehension issue. I literally said in the post you quoted the 1st time that I can see both scenarios playing out if CBN leaves, one he stays loyal to Gator nation because he is a high character kid and probably knows what the word "commitment" means. Plus he would already be the bonafide franchise QB for whatever new coach came in. Or the 2nd scenario is if CBN is fired i can see DJ going ahead and finding a new home on a title contender to.try for a Natty.

Son what are you arguing exactly that he would leave or he wouldn't because I said that i could see where he could domeither one.

And what Etienne debacle are you talking about. The one where he wanted to get workhorse carries even though he was getting even reps with Trell and decided to transfer? What didnCBN Don wrong there? He had been giving Etn meaningful snaps since he was a true freshman. Dude just got greedy.

The jokes on him though because when he gets to the league he'll find out how much they care about RB's anymore.

The roundtable on the front page said DJ is playing. So i don't know where all this talk is coming from that he is not playing.

We just need to run the ball like we did against Georgia the year we had the new quarterback (Treon?).

Isaac Bruce didn't tell his coaches that he tore his hammy prior to the Super Bowl in '99 because they wouldn't have let him play. The guy caught a long ball on play one. It might be that a tear is easier to play with than a strain or that it is just a nagging injury that can played through with the right mentality. I can't say personally as I've only had knee issues and never a hammy. Maybe someone with terrible hammy issues can chime in.

A torn hammy feels good until it doesn't. You can usually get around pretty decently on a grade 2 within a few days, but there is an increased risk of tweaking it again if it's not fully healed. That is the best way I can describe it. And when I say increased risk, it's tremendously higher risk the closer to the date of injury you are. The only question is how true of a grade 2 this is with Lagway. I don't think anyone (even Lagway himself) can tell you definitively if he's completely healed. Most likely, he is not, which is why you have the Isaac Bruce story above. There is some caution definitely being thrown to the wind here. And for all intents and purposes, I hope it works out for the best.

The terms strain and tear are synonymous. A strain is a tear of the muscle or tendon. A sprain is to a ligament. Strains are measured in grades. A grade one is mild and for muscle can heal in days. A grade two is partial thickness and may heal on its own but can take weeks to months. A grade three is a complete tear across the muscle.

Any pull of the hammy is a tear. Some are just slight tears. Anyone that can suit up and play 2 weeks later had a minor tear. A serious tear of the hamstring muscles would not be playing 2 weeks later, and would be lucky to be playing 2 months later. What is odd to me if it was the former, why bring out a cart? That was an odd moment and made me think that the tear was much worse than it apparently is.

I should have read the whole thread before I posted :D

I'm no expert other than I had a pretty serious tear (obviously grade 2 since I didn't require surgical intervention). I was on crutches for 2 weeks and gimpy for months. I still have a nice little knot right below my left half-moon.

Do you think there is some magic where the medical professionals can diagnose the severity of the hamstring tear in the middle of a football field in 5 minutes?

Possibly not, I'll leave that to the experts. However, the player should have been able to tell the trainers that he could walk off under his own power.

If I ever feel the need to visit one of those fine establishments, it will be because I have a different "knot" for them to work on

Why would he be walking off if he had a hamstring pull? I’d be fine if they lined up a caravan of camels to take DJ off the field if he needed it

I used to think MLB players exaggerated hamstring injuries. Until a church league softball game taught me different.

My business partner thinks a paper cut is trauma. Some guys have played with broken legs. Im fairly confident Timmy played through multiple concussions. Everyone is different.

My apologies if already discussed, but are we getting back any of our injured DBs?
