Pre-Game Discussion: FLORIDA at Mississippi State

The crap that hurts my feelings is its freaking football. All of these guys have been playing it since elementary school. Don’t overthink it.

 

That doesn't give me confidence going into Starkville, LOL. I listened to a Mississippi guy explain this is the worst Mississippi State team he's ever seen and the defense is terrible. He thought we should win the game. But, he added, "Y'all ain't much better." So, he thinks MS has a chance on offense to make some noise. I wouldn't personally bet on this game.

 

Agree, but I haven't seen a ton of good decision-making. Even the Samford game involved bone-headed, lack of discipline, penalties! Shane Matthews said this Mississippi State offense concerns him, as they play an up-tempo style of offense which could give the Gator defense problems. I would not be shocked if the Gators eek this one out. But, dammit, the Gators have a habit of playing down to their competition. So, this is a head scratcher.

 

Please go back and reread the actual posts. Or don't. But I wrote what I wrote and not what you keep inferring. So you're arguing with an opinion I haven't expressed and ascribing motives to me I don't have.

 

I never thought, as a Gator fan, that the unacceptable "mediocrity" would be a acceptable. I never thought we would be this low. Hopefully something clicks in the brains of the coaches and players and we break out of the bizzaro world we are in.
I believe it would have helped if, after the Miami loss CBN would have went berserk at his press conference and started throwing crap from the podium and yelling. His Stepford wives shtick of peace and serenity as we sink into they abyss is very disturbing to me

You are funny. The original post of yours got edited by the mods for suggesting a player was faking an injury. You responded to someone else and agreed with that poster. Give it a rest.

 

All I care about today is a Gator Win. I will watch every second until ( IF ) we start to get blown out. (If that happens I'll be pissy for a few hours and text GC stuff I shouldn't. ).
But I think we're going to win, that's my heart vote.

Then that was a call on a mods part. My post was after someone suggested one reason and you another. My post said those two reasons don't have to be exclusive of each other, which I think is a true point. I never said said or implied what i thought about the matter. You're the one making assumptions. I'm sorry if that strikes you and others as my personal suggestion or theory, but I wrote what I wrote, not what you inferred. My last word.

History may also record that getting your ass handed to you on your last road game as the HC at UF, finally put an end to those struggles for good. No more excuses, no more alibis.

 

I'm suggesting it (for this season only). Right now we are so bad that a few home wins and 7 win season (which is mediocrity) seems like a very distant thought. Never ever thought we would be a bottom dweller. (which is worse than mediocrity). Let's hope we snap out of this funk.

 

Go back 2-3 years. Almost everyone allowed Billy’s mindset to be accepted and allowed the blame to be placed on Mullen. Some of us said there’s no reason Billy shouldn’t win 7-8 games immediately. AR covered up the flaws of an antiquated offense and got us to 6 wins. Billy chose not to go hard at the portal. We allowed the excuse “ it’s new and he doesn’t understand it yet, gotta give him time”.

 

This is again Billy making excuses. Problem is for his first 2 years all excuses were accepted.

 

Miss State held their own against Arizona State on the road and pounded Eastern Kentucky worse than we pounded Samford. Gators have performed much worse than the spread in their two FBS games. I smell a minor upset brewing.
