Pre-Game Discussion: FLORIDA at LSU

Of course its a night game. Death Valley at night is the hardest place to play in CFB...IMO. How many times is our game against them in Baton Rouge at night??? All of them??

I have a feeling their defense will play like the 85 Bears on Saturday night. We’ll make whomever the QB is look like a combo of Joe Montana and Tom Brady….

 

He will play. Probably shouldn’t but he will.

 

Ark was the game of the year for the Gators. Had we won it, pressure would have been less for the players and coaches, knowing that they would be guaranteed a bowl game and at least a .500 record. Now we get to see how the players and coaches perform under a different kind of pressure. Or maybe they will just throw caution to the wind and play untethered. Who knows? A look at the numbers:

FPI gives the Gators a 12.5% chance of winning ( ) while ranking LSU 10 and FL 39. Current line is LSU -14.

LSU obviously has a juggernaut offense and a really awful defense. Can the Gators take advantage of the LSU D and get the run game going? I think to win, we need to get back to some of those big runs from Etienne and play MUCH better offense on 3rd down. If there's good news, it's that LSU sucks out loud at run D, pass D, and 3rd down defense. OTOH, they run the ball very well, which is usually doomsday for this Gator squad. It will take a minor miracle + a few breaks/turnovers to eek out a happy ending in Baton Rouge.

I think the team is accepting of the loss and moving on. Does it suck? Absolutely. But these guys are a band of brothers. They don't give up. All of these teams are beatable, and any team can come alive and win on any given Saturday.

I'm more concerned about our injuries. That's a real issue. Maybe we'll have someone back. While their offense is stellar, is it that good if Daniels is out? (they might have an all world back up) Nussheimer's kid or someone.

I think the Mizzou game is the hardest on our schedule. At least we've beaten them recently. The kids have played tough and only had two decent victories. One can hope they'll fight hard for each other and their criticized coach and squeak out another.

Cajun Kelley needs to go down! Besides, he kind of disrespects his players. He's all ego and dialect.

Gators would need to run for 200 or more to win. 6-7 minute drives would be awesome.

Sorry to say, and i'm hoping for a miracle, but our poor beloved gators will get skinned Saturday night.

 

In the presser, Billy saying “Other than the PAT and FG, special teams were the best yet” is sorta like “Other than that Mrs Lincoln, how was the play?”

 

I foresee a slew of mental errors and a team that will not play with much emotion.
Saying that cause that's what I've seen about 80% of the time so far this year.

I would just like to see us leave everything on the field.
Still think we lose this game if we do that but then it'll be much easier to take.

CBN can talk about the process all he wants but until I see us leave everything on the field I won't believe in his process.

Norvell did improve in his 2d year, while Dabo came off a 9-win season the previous year. But hey, since when is a losing record a requirement to get fired?

I've been there 5 times at night since the early 90s, all Gator wins.

 

Unfortunately, at this point I just hope we keep it competitive.

 

If he had a concussion I think there is no way he plays. I'm not sure if I have seen anyone with a concussion, college or pro, play the next game since the Tua incident with the Dolphins.
