If we happen to spring the upset, then people who make those prediction need to be put on the air and asked about their prediction.

Spot on, I swear Lawless and Donovan are incapable of a rational thought when they are on TV.

This will be the first regular season OOC game UF has played out of the state since @ Syracuse in 1991 (L, 21-38). Very much hoping for a better outcome on this trip west.

We played Michigan in Dallas in 2017. But this is definitely the first true road game.

For years, a lot of sea-level teams have gone into Boulder, Colorado and beaten CU. I don’t think altitude will be a problem for the Gators at 1000 feet lower.

Too bad they aren't getting an extra day at altitude to help make that adjustment. Or even stay the night at someplace even higher so pulling into SLC is a bit of a relief.

Exactly the WORST thing to do. Acclimating to altitude takes many weeks, if not months. No one acclimates to altitude in two days, period.

And having them stay in higher altitudes first doesn't help them acclimate, it only increases the risk of altitude sickness for people coming from sea level. Altitude sickness is no joke; on several ski club trips I went on back in the day, we had to fly people home because they were so sick. If our guys get altitude sickness, they won't suit up, much less play.

To avoid altitude sickness, you want to sleep low, hike/ski high. Sleeping at higher altitudes greatly increases your chance of getting altitude sickness.

This whole narrative about altitude affecting the game is a red herring. SLC is not high enough for it to be an issue. If we lose, that won't be the reason why.

I went to Utah at a time in my life when I spent 20+ hours a week playing sports. I could run and bike for hours without a break. The first week in Utah, I couldn't go for more than a few minutes at a time. I had to stop after each flight of to catch my breath. When I came back to Florida a few years later, I could run everyone into the ground for a few weeks :) YMMV
