Why do I support Napier?
1) He is a man of integrity and acts like it.
2) He is a terrific recruiter.
3) He has a plan and is working on implementing it.

Did it ever occur to anyone that success is sweeter when one experiences the other side of that equation?

I don't care what anyone says, success is cyclical and that includes programs like Bama, Usc or Ohio State.

It just might be that if we give our coach time we could cycle back into success mode.

All I can post is that I like what is happening in recruiting (FINALLY). The staff seems to be keeping the locker room and culture sane (this should not be underestimated after Mullen) and, with the addition of this latest class, UF may finally be developing depth.

Is it perfect in Gator land? Hell NO, and we have PLENTY of experts on this board, ready, willing and able to point out all the flaws.

Could UF lose out? Sure. But UF may also
win a couple and go bowling.

Besides, who would UF get? Saban? Well he's getting long in the tooth and what would that cost? 250 million to start?

Kirby? Me, I would rather get boiled in acid than have another UGA legacy as head coach.

I advise patience no matter what the W - L this year. Secure the current class, work the transfer portal and keep chopping wood. We just may be surprised next year.

Oh and did I mention we got the best HS QB in the land coming? Not to mention a certain reciever is visiting this weekend.

 

Sillier to complain about something that is beyond our control, especially when the coach is doing it because the players wanted it.

 

I think their issues are more than scheme related.

 

Seems I remember a call that went against them or wasn't called on us and their Coach went crazy over it.

 

Think it might have been a time clock thing? I seem to recall a close game with Arky where the play clock sat at zero for a bit and we kinda were gifted with being allowed the snap and it affecting their closest chance at beating us in The Swamp. I just don't recall what year.

 

I don't recall that against Arky but it definitely happened against UK several years back. We snapped the ball late.

The officiating crew didn't earn many friends with Arkansas fans that day for sure lol. That's one game of a select few still brought up these days. I think one of the refs was suspended after it. Questionable PI and personal foul calls are what I remember most late in the game, but obviously every fan mostly remembers the ones that go against them.

 

Yeah it's hard to do much of anything when the OL sucks, but I do think the Briles offense fit the Arkansas personnel more. It doesn't sound like Guiton will go back to the Briles offense but it will be condensed and will focus on (the few) things that the offense did well, maybe roll the pocket more.

Rocket Sanders could be back too which would help but it's not a sure thing yet.

 

This has turned into a very interesting game. Both teams really need a win here. Arkansas is 0-5 in the conference but they played Ole Miss-LSU-Bama very close, lost by a combined 13pts. Was their last game, a 7-3 loss at home to Miss St an outlier? Now they roll into the Swamp after an off week with a new OC. This is a hard game to figure out, imho. I really thought UF would roll early in the week. Now with a couple of key defensive players out, I’m not so sure of that. Just win please and get to a very important 6 wins.
