Not much to argue with there, except the being locked into mediocrity part. You may be giving us too much credit for being mediocre in our current state. And it's also possible that we could be overreacting to a tough loss. I guess we'll have to wait and find out.

3 times we did not have enough players on the line
1 time we let the play clock run down....yes, this happens, but in this case it was obv to everyone inc the announcers that we weren't gonna get the snap off
1 time we had 2 #3s on the field.

there are 6 TOs in a football game. none were used in these 5 situations.

that = embarrassing coaching.

 

Pu t’s caught inside the ten have an almost 100% chance of being spotted inside the ten. Tge rule is don’t catch it and let that 50% chance of going in the endzone happen.

Lets just hope his public calmness belies his true inside fire to kick some assistant coaches in the peanuts.

Put it this way, none of the scoring was becasue they out talented us... They weren't bigger, faster, strong as a whole than our team. That leaves only one common denominator... the coaches.

 

You dont usually miss the point the point. The days turning the punt over and getting a 10 yd plus roll are history. The window is smaller now we let two bounce and they were downed on the 3. There are few absolutes it will be interesting to chart the punting return this season to see how many left to roll end up at the 20

We have bigger fish to fry if we are going to be competitive this season.

 

Of the 4 punts Utah had that were inside the 10 one went for a touchback, one Wilson caught that probably would have been a touchback, one downed on the 9 and one downed on the 3.

So I think the 50% chance held up even with their kicker.

 

I’ve never seen a penalty for it either, but it was bound to happen to someone at some point. Sucks it happened to us.

*apparently this happened to Saban his first year at Bama, happened to TCU a few years back, and has happened to quite a few other teams too. This is the first time I’ve seen it, but even the GOAT has had this type of miscue, and he was way further along in his coaching career than Billy.

 

I blame it on our Special Teams coach……wait, what? We don’t have one? Well there you go, perfectly acceptable excuse.

CBN said On that particular punt return package jason marshall was supposed to come out. It was a oversight and a miscommunication that i'm sure they will get fixed

 

Or, you can make either of them change their number and never worry about this crap, miscommunication or not.

CBN is choosing to address the effect over the cause. VERY telling.

 

At this stage of CBN's tenure aside from decent recruiting I've seen nothing encouraging to indicate that he'll succeed.
