A better scheme would help cover those deficiencies. Spread the field, which gives the OL an easier time identifying their blocking assignments. Instead, we compress the field, allowing the opposing team to stack the box and confuse our OL. There is little margin for error in this predictable scheme.

 

Not a lot of confidence we have the right guy after the press conference either.

Dude seems like he has no explanations. About the only thing I can agree with from his presser is that it was embarrassing.

It almost feels like he's given up already.

 

I wanted to but until I see it on the field I’m not getting hopeful like prior seasons. I’ve been Charlie Brown too many seasons.

I really wanted him to succeed here, it’s apparent it’s not going to happen. To get pasted like this at home by an arch rival, who as of late hasn’t set the world on fire, is just disastrous!

 

There are other candidates besides loser Noles. Use your brain.

I guess times have just changed. Maybe Florida just isn’t a football state anymore. Maybe it’s just not a great sports state anymore. FSU and Miami are pretty good, but neither are title contenders. Obviously UF is a dumpster fire.

UF, Miami and FSU will probably be decent to good in basketball. None are championship contenders though.

In the NFL, the Dolphins, Jaguars and Bucs aren’t exactly knocking on the door for Super Bowls.

In the MLB, the Rays and Marlins are just flat out not good.

In the NBA, the Heat and Magic are middle of the pack teams at best.

I suppose in the NHL is where we succeed now. Three Stanley Cups in five years. None of this makes sense anymore….

You've ALWAYS needed quality players on the lines of scrimmage and Napier simply hasn't recruited them, nor has he brought any in from the portal. One or 2 here and there, but not enough to compete at the SEC levels. Don't need a Time Machine to see that or know that.

 

No, we did not run him on middle routes or go routes at all. Why wouldn’t you take your best guy and try to throw to him down the field some. Throwing behind the line of scrimmage with him is only so effective. I would love to see him go on a fly pattern.
