The process sucks…

 

I have to respectfully disagree.

I’m not saying let’s get Ron Zook back but how do you screw up 4 coaches in a row especially with what was an elite program. Zook handed off a good team to Urban.

 

The offensive line looks as feeble as it was in the previous two years. In that period, we have had 30+ scholarship athletes play various positions. It is inconceivable that all of them are or were bad. There is a disconnect in that room that has existed even before Napier got here. The defense is a major concern but I believe they ran into one of the top offenses in college football. They will make some big plays this year.

Our Achilles heel is our offensive line. We have 325+ 6’5” (on average) young men that can’t open holes. It has been the same old story for the last half-decade.

 

Time to turn the page, fire Napier, let Calloway at interim HC. Let the young guys see the field, especially Lagway, and the 2 stud RB's. Approach Lane, Urban, or somebody with a proven track record. If Napier stays we are probably 1 win - Samford. We ain't beating anyone else with this garbage product.

 

Napier is done.

 

Mertz has been overthrowing receivers the last two seasons.

 

We couldn’t recruit good OL at HS level and couldn’t bring in any good OL players from transfer portal, only managed to bring in backups.

 

There are usually some substances involved with strippers.

 

Roberts has head coach experience. Let Callaway be the OC.

 

We do have 2 OL coaches though. Which spins my nips as to why our line can’t do s#!+

 

Yeah......I was hoping (led to believe is more like it) we'd get a Nick Saban disciple.

The Zook/UM transition was really what a program wishes for. Zook couldn’t quite satisfy the W column, but recruited well and made the job desirable. UM was a proven, highly sought after young coach. It was perfect.

BN was one of the biggest longshot hires I’ve ever seen. And unlike UM, he was not inheriting a good team which makes it even worse. As aggregating as the Muschamp/McElwain/Mullen eras were, I wonder if we really fell victim to the modern day coaching carousel this time with BN.
