He can have that stat line, and also have crucial overthrows. They are not mutually exclusive. I'm not referencing throws that were thread the needle type stuff, those are going to be hit and miss for any qb. For the record by no means am I blaming AR for this loss. And I completely agree about the INT, I said as much in the game thread that the receiver needs to catch the ball. I wouldn't categorize a single thing that was done today by UF as "good."
Agree with tommyvee, that post typifies the "praise at all cost" mentality of many in this forum. We should be able to post all opinions and not be attacked for not following the party line.
A positive from today - Reynolds had a big game. Not a burner but ran a nice route to get open on his deep ball.
A really accurate take that destroys your dream fantasy about Billy Napier being the next Urban. He is not and he has never succeeded at a P5 school. His decision making begets Louisiana. Not a P5 traditional powerhouse like Florida.
Nary a post about this one little thing: Vandy played a decent game, throw in the laundry calls going primarily their way and, here we are. Congrats to Vandy. I hope this motivates UF to give max effort next Friday. Gator Nation could use a big win.
Thank you. Squeaking by to beat a team with 4 wins (against shit schools) in the last two years isn’t something to laud.
AR not the reason Gators lost. Played well enough to win and then some. 400 yds passing…some key drops and 1 pickoff the receiver. Abysmal special teams again (TD off muffed punt plus missed extra point) inopportune penalties (2 on their 1st drive when we off the field), etc. truly inexplicable re out failure to establish the run. Coaching and play calling an issue. Going for 2 on the first TD of the 2d half was chasing points when no need to so. Team and coaching loss. Are there any Vandy players offered by Fla? Suspect the answer is none.
This 100%. All the dream world fantasy lickers need to chill out and let facts be spoken. Billy Napier has made so many miscues in game calling and management, it boggles the mind.
Congrats on the twin grandkids. Have a great time. Your shot across the bow for posters is nothing more than another personal expression of frustration. You just choose to take it out on the board, instead of the coaches, players, etc.
because it keeps you hanging on like an ex girlfriend. Just when you think you don’t want anymore things go the right way for a while. Then comes the biggest let down of them all. That’s what dating the Florida Gators is like.
From my limited perspective, this loss was on dumb penalties and missed tackles. Plenty of blame to go around, but those issues were more egregious than "blame the QB" (who threw for 400 yds) or "blame the coach" (who didn't make the players commit PFs or facemasks, etc.).
Facts include that Florida is undergoing a complete rebuild. I was at the game and will have more to say when I get home but "this forum" faces facts and what are presented as facts every day/week. We also have our share of pure pot-stirrers and folks who disappear until there's something to come and gripe about . . . like today . . . most of whom don't know what they're talking about.
We don’t have a dominant defensive line. Until we do, our defense will be vulnerable. They ran all over us today. Defense travels on the road for good defensive teams. We simply don’t have many good defensive players. On offense, we are down to several receivers who have never played and, with some of the drops, probably shouldn’t be playing.
People level of commitment to the team and program are not based on how frequently they post here and offer their thoughts. Live blogging during the game is part of the watching experience. EVERYONE's emotions are high --win and lose--and their opinions are dictated by that. YOU have your perspective but its not the beginning or end. There is no denying it that every ugly aspect of this season was on FULL display from poor execution to poor planning to poor coaching to poor refs...Vandy took advantage of all of it. Like I said earlier..the shine and honeymoon for CBN is over. He is either ready for the role or not!
