I honestly don't see learning as the biggest issue. Overthrowing open receivers, 2 yard routes in bounds with under a minute left, hail marry throw into the 12th row. None of that has anything to do with learning. At some point the "he hasn't played that much" has to expire. It is game 11 of his 3rd year in college, he has a whole season of starting qb at this point. How long did we hear the same things about Franks?
I could rationalize prior close losses, mostly to decent teams, as part of first year growing pains. This one was hard to stomach. So much self inflicted damage. Penalties. Key turnovers. Dropped passes. Caught passes that should have been dropped.
As I said in another post earlier. Exactly what should have happened given the game up to that point.
AR may be hurt (seems like he is always hurt) but that doesn't excuse him from throwing a fastball to a back that is only five yards away. Or, overthrowing receivers by five yards on fourth down. Or throwing it completely out of the end zone on the last play. He didn't give any of those plays a chance. Yes, he hit some but that's the problem. He's so inconsistent there is no way he can be considered an NFL caliber QB. This was Vandy we played. The competition in the NFL is a bit stiffer.
Yep, he will get another opportunity in less than a week and let’s hope he comes up with some magic for Florida State as I cannot remember the last time we lost to all of our rivals in one year and lost to Vanderbilt. This is really bad. If not ready Friday it will not even be close
He is right on missed opportunities. Unfortunately, similar missed opportunities have been a reoccurrence.
It seems CBN dials up 10 plays a game that have zero chance at working.… WR screens when we don’t have the numbers, roll outs when we know they are containing the edge, etc.
