Perhaps but AR is a running QB. He had 4 rushes today. Zero design QB keeps. Not a recipe for success in incorporating an air raid concept when most of your receivers are all out of the game. That makes absolutely zero sense.
That's true but they had like a dozen + transfer out of the program including at the most important position. He had to retool that roster for year 1. He killed it in the portal.
So, if Tennesse beats the crap out of Vandy next week, that means we are technically better than Vandy? Do we get an asterisk beside our record?
Read several articles this week that the team had "turned a corner." With this game they peaked around the corner and ran the opposite way. Sure they played hard, penalties and missed tackles killed us. Sounds like a team from prior years doesn't it?
Agree. Instead of a litany of more excuses, time for this forum to deal with facts. First win for Vandy at home in 30 years, oh, and those who proclaimed us a "running team", Gators ground out 45 yards against a terrible defense. Play calling again was vanilla. BN outcoached and made no adjustments. This is a step backward. BN job is to get them ready to play, and mentally (penalties) they were not today. FSU comes in with five games in a row of 200 rushing yards. Let's see how good a coach BN is on Friday.
Moral victory polytechnic institute? No thanks. We just need to get better. The resources this program has do not equate to being a bottom feeder.
It’s almost like he is trying to prove he can be a pocket passer in order to show scouts he’s an NFL qb, but in the end it ends up hurting the team.
We can't just kick back and invent nice things to say. And the alternative, is saying nothing on an opinion board where opinions are needed to make it work, is silly. Therefore...venting.
I just don't understand the play calling to start the game. It took the tv announcers a review of the halftime stats to realize that Richardson never carried the ball in the opening half. Vandy played a solid game and deserved to win but we mostly shot ourselves in the feet for these reasons 1) first half play calling 2) untimely and undisciplined penalties 3) lousy special teams play
The problem is, the things AR needs to be able to do take years of learning in order for them to be second nature. A lot of throws were there to be made, but he wasn't able to make them. At the same time, AR made some good plays. The problem is consistency. Unless you can string this together you're not going to have a drive that scores.
