I think the head coach needs to induce a bit of fear in his players, so they don't have mental mistakes in key moments. Saban, Spurrier, Bryant, Woody...they all demanded major respect (and a bit of fear) from their players. I think all the great coaches have this. I'm not sure the players have any fear of Billy. It seems like no big deal if they do something stupid. He seems more like their friend.

I thought Jaden Robinson took a huge leap in this game...he looked like a future all SEC linebacker. This is great to see!

“FLORIDA: Hell of an effort. Mistakes that cost them can't happen. Had run going early. Unbalanced formations were a problem. Opened up some holes. LT was pretty good. TEs helped. 1 ran like a maniac. 13 good. Red zone calls just odd. Side to side just not what's there. 15 great while in. Still want more shots. 17, 8 & 3 can make those plays. Protection broke down some. Gapping it didn't solve problems. DL played fairly well. Split difference with WRs some. Made them make choices. 99 great. 88 really good. 34 active. 44 maybe as good as I e seen him. 6 was knifing through. Won with fewer numbers some. 3 deep too much IMO. Procedure stuff just can't be an issue. Must be clean there. Effort great. Plans solid. Had chances.”

After three years, we continue to see poor decisions by players and coaches. The poor decisions by players are indicative of incompetent coaching. BN wanted to call the plays so that he could have two offensive line coaches. Two coaches has given us no advantage at recruiting or performance on the field. Offensively, the OL has been the biggest weakness of the team. We lost some really decent linemen to the portal and did not find decent replacements. BN was the result of bad clock management and playcalling (again). BN has an abysmal record of 1-9 against rivals and there is no clear advantage to playing in the Swamp! I doubt there is an advantage to firing BN mid-season, but he has cost his team to lose too many times. If Graham had not suffered an injury, we would have beaten the Vols convincingly. Even with a win in Knoxville, it's clear a change should come!

The rest of us are sick and tired of being screwed by incompetent Napier. Get rid of him already.

Thought he was talking about Napier when he used the walking fast analogy. Would be just as appropriate in my opinion

Topics are related. Napier is a much bigger problem and threat to Gator football than some refs.

Robinson and Denson played great, also thought Banks and Jackson were really good.

interesting that Pyburn's not on there, I feel like he's made a big positive impact whenever he gets PT and would like to see him on the field more often.

Heck, that was pre-Dickey. The damned good Ray Graves was coaching then...

Totally agree. But I always resist the urge by fans to say "Florida became Florida in 1990." We had some great teams in the sixties and eighties...

Spurrier never worshipped money. Getting fired was infinitely worse. His pride would never allow that. But I doubt SOS would have been fired at USCe. He knew it was over simply by loo0king at his team and "fired" himself.

I disagree with Steve on the presumption that Gator fans would have said, "Well, he didn't get it, but at least he was fighting." Once a coach is hated, very few would give him the benefit of the doubt for anything. I still remember Ed Zaunbrecher's trick play pass attempt TO Grossman that failed in our 2002 bowl game against Michigan. They practiced that play forever, but it didn't work and everyone blamed Zook for being a boneheaded idiot...

It does seem like in every game, we get a bad call on an interpretation of some rule we’ve never seen before.

For instance, getting called for targeting when hitting someone in the butt.

I called for him to be with James in this game to cover the flats, as UTk tries screens and other ways to spread the field when they feel pressure on the QB. He was impressive at getting to the qb and in coverage. He had some of the most outrageous high school highlights I've ever seen, so I'm glad he finally got to show his promise.

One of these days, we’re going to put it all together on offense, defense, AND special teams at the same time and beat someone we’re not supposed to beat.
