Defense has played at a winning level the last two games. Just a little help from the offense would've won last night. If the offense had played as well as the defense did last night, we rout them. This game at worst should have probably been a 17+ lead at halftime. And it could've been 24-28 pts. Whatever it was that sparked the defense the last 2 games needs to be introduced to the offense.

definitely makes it easier to reestablish the los on and generate penetration vs the oline

I'd like to know how our defense suddenly learned how to play SEC defense. It's obviously a nice surprise, but how did they suddenly become aggressive?

And why did it take this long to make that happen. This was the best defensive play I've seen from the Gators in quite a while, and it seems to have happened almost overnight... during the 2 week of bye week.

The defense showed some spark last week against UCF, but really turned it on against a very talented Tennessee team. How did that happen?

Napier used Mertz instead of Lagway on the QB sneak - stupid. I know it was a part of the announced (stupid) rotation. Lagway should not be throwing to the sideline - stupid. If you want to throw down field - go with Lagway. If you want to use short passes - go with
Mertz. Duh! Too many stupid decisions over the last 3 years; for 20 million dollars.

The way our Oline was reacting there has to be some video of Tennessee players clapping to simulate the QB. I know there was at least 2 instances where Slaughter was pissed about it.

No intent to be harsh. Just a comment based on one perspective. Unfortunately I was at the game when we were beat by the ‘Dawgs 51-0 pre-Spurrier

Each person has a perspective. One is not better than another- just different

There is something good to come from last night, UT still thinks they belong. Can't wait till they get exposed like fsu did last year.

Should have never came down to overtime to begin with. Defense deserves credit for the way they played. Played way above expectations.

it was a horrible mark. Napier is like a deer in a headlight when it comes to standing up for injustices.

Nico and the UT offense were inconsistent most of the night. Heck two of their three scoring drives in regulation started inside the Florida 30 yard line, without those UT scores even less than the paltry 17 points they had in regulation. Plus Nico had two turnovers on the night. IMO it was reasonable to think UT's offense might also screw things up in OT.

I don't hate the decision to play for OT as much as others. I'm not a Napier defender, but either decision there I could have accepted and defended. The game was lost on the wasted red zone trips in the first half.

I've had a lot more fun this year watching Minnesota play and the coaches press conferences after their games. Give it a try.

By the way, did anyone think Smack was going to make that FG attempt? Fitting end for the last 5 plays of the game which was all that I saw.

One thing I read about during the bye week that I've mentioned to some people during the UCF and now Tennessee games, is the defense practiced with microphones to listen to communication and I assume call outs for adjustments. I think that's a level of analysis and feedback we maybe did not have before? Perhaps this exposed some misunderstandings and improved communications / adjustments? Not sure. Just something I read that seemed like was new in the bye week.

Coaches are damned if they do, and dammed if they don’t. If we make it, Napier has balls and he’s a hero for a week. If we don’t make it, then the whole game comes down to the coach making a bad decision.

He had a play in mind and thought he might be able to catch them off guard. The refs gave them plenty of time, and they had a defense that he didn’t like so he played it safe.

This and guys realizing they were playing tight and worried about what teammates were doing instead of focusing on, and only on, their own assignments.

And confidence was lacking. UCF and UT should have that solved. I wouldn’t be surprised to have UK pretty well locked down.
