Yes, I was expecting us to be last in third down conversion 131, yes I was expecting us to allow almost no punting. yes I was expecting 6 straight TDs, yes I was expecting 23 minutes of O. Yes, this is exactly what I was expecting.

MCB51 that was well said and you are so right, in the big scheme of things football is not all that. This is a passion to some, maybe most, but so many more things that are vastly important. I am honestly happy for your life changing situation. We need your positivity.

I absolutely believe he will, my point was even one the greatest coaches of all time could evolve and adapt, that fans… even the one’s that are constantly complaining , are occasionally correct, and that concerns over continued poor performances (particularly defense) are understandable… if sometimes annoying.
I don’t particularly see the purpose of the constant complaining over things that we all can see are not up to par, but to each their own.
The “is it a talent or is it coaching” dueling narratives seem counterproductive to me… of course it’s both.
That’s not me saying that, it's Coach Napier, and he has been saying it since the first game. He is around this team far more… and is far more qualified to both understand and correct any weaknesses than any of us.
Perhaps my statement was perceived as a complaint against Coach Napier… it wasn’t, and it damn sure wasn’t a knock on what I consider the best Coach we’ve ever had.
The season is what most thought it would be. To call for coaching changes in the middle of a season that we all anticipated is about as counterintuitive as it comes.
I’m confident Coach will adjust (remember some of the assistant coaches were not his initial choice) both schematically and personnel wise, but he can’t do it in one year.

I know I was expecting our defense to be worse than last year.

Reminded me of Phil Fulmer's old, "we're gonna work like heck....and execute better."

Napier has no answers with the dead wood he was given by Mullen. Idk why they do pressers anymore.

Useful info is pretty rare in pressers, I agree. Occasionally you'll get some clarity like on the clock management thing. Conscious decision to take it into halftime as opposed to just screwing up timeout usage. Whether you agree with that decision or not at least you have from the horse's mouth what the intent was.

After what I saw Tennessee do to end their game with Bama, Heupal owns Napier until next year. He did with 20 seconds what Napier couldn't do with less than 3 minutes. Consider this - he could have run out the clock like 99.999% of all HBC and it would be legit. Nope, he pulls a bigger Napier on Bama and decides to win the game on their own FG attempt. In 21 seconds. That's balls. If Bama picked off either of those passes it could have been a Bama pick 6. The safe call is run out those 20 seconds and head to OT.

And the fact that Napier is the OC makes it more maddening. It’s like a loss of confidence in himself

It’s the QB, that who he has little confidence in, imho, see the sequence just before halftime Sat night..

Yet there's not even a scant chance he will allow someone else to qb.
