This is fine. Now, remind yourself when our team brain farts a game this year, like possibly USCe next week in Columbia instead of in the friendly confines of the Swamp, especially after a bad loss against Kentucky. THEN tell us how you are all-in for the long haul and not for the immediate wins.
After 6 games I have to say the Debbie Downers are too much, so I’m being very quick on the ignore Only 12 games. Season is done in 50 days. i intend to enjoy it with like minded gator fans
Touching on what some others said, it's a solid win but it doesn't answer a lot of the concerns that people have. Obviously seeing AB and Wilson on the field and performing is welcomed and some of the cleaned up mistakes are as well but it's a home win against vandy. Which team shows up on the road next week? Play a good game next week and I think most will shut up for a while. People just want to see growth. Speaking of AB, is zipperer expected back at all or next year? I thought he flashed last year before injury. He and boardingham could open things up a lot. With all that said, there are several usernames that only show up to chime in when bad things happen. They show up in the basketball board as well. I can rip off ten names in ten seconds.
I mean it's a great argument to have, I just remember Toney shake'n and bake'n in a phone booth, but not necessarily getting north/south. Tre gets those screens and makes a move and is getting + yardage.
I don’t see them as similar at all, other than they’re both shifty. Tre gets north/south in a hurry. Toney spent most of the time running sideways and backwards until his last year. Tre also has better hands as a freshman. Tre also seems to be focused on football, not jawing at opponents, rapping, and chasing people through parks with “airsoft” guns.
From you. There are a vocal few that have downplayed Mertz in order to support AR. The more grounded fans rooted for both and are realistic about what both are.
This post is spot on. After 11 interceptions in 2021 and 10 in 2022, he has, what, 2 so far? He’s either become a much better QB this year - in which case credit is due at least in part to his coaches for developing him - or this offense is more tailored to his strengths and weaknesses - in which case, again, credit to the coaches for recognizing them and responding to them. Can’t see how the striking difference is explained otherwise.
not sure i understand what you're saying but You won't find many more positive/optimistic posters than I whether we win or lose I'm with the Gators for the long haul. I just don't ever find it purposeful to be negative about everything , Here and beyond the message boards/internet. The team deserved a ton of criticism for last week's poor performance, no argument here. But imo the team also deserves some credit for a improved performance pretty much in all phases tonight. Still much more to go but they played well tonight
Given the throws he is making, if he was anywhere near the INT numbers from Wisconsin that would be a serious problem. He is almost the antithesis to AR last year when we would be begging him to take the wide open check downs rather than the 50 yard bombs into double coverage. Personally I would trade a pick or 2 more in exchange for a hand full of 40+ yard big plays, BN may totally disagree.
Mertz has been so reliable, not elite, but has worked out much better than our past transfer QBs This campaign would have been a complete disaster with how bare our QB position is going into this season.
Mertz has been much better than I expected. Very efficient. The offensive line just can't protect him long enough to throw deep. Several deep routes were called during the game and he ends up scrambling around and throwing to a checkdown, throwing it away or getting sacked. The line is a mish-mash with all the injuries and they just aren't in sync. Vandy gave us fits and all the defensive fronts we'll face down the road are much better. That'll be the key to how we do, IMO.
