AR misses a lot of open receivers. He doesn’t see the field well at all. He needs a LOT more game experience before anyone thinks about the NFL.
100% agree. All these bickering and whining is not going to make a lick of difference to improve this team. Just enjoy the ride this year and hope for a better season next year. This doesn’t mean I don't get upset when they mess up. At the end of the game, win or lose, I'm still à gator fan.
Ok now for my 2 cents... (Optional reading) AR was hot and cold but managed the win. Napier is coaching him up and developing his confidence. AR and the coach don't talk about injuries unless the player is not playing. Then it's a general type thing. (lower body, upper body etc) Sometimes AR looks depressed, sometimes he looks super up. Today I thought he was off. BUT...he did manage to pull off a win. When AR is healthy and on, our offense is unstoppable. If we were a complete team we'd of come away with a win up in Tenn. But we're not. I'm still not sure when AR says he wasn't hurt if he's BS-ing us, covering for self-loathing mental aspect or something else. Who knows, but inconsistency still plagues us. AR is a baller and wants to win badly. He might be his own worst enemy because he appears to beat up on himself. I personally see that as a maturity thing. It might be a liability now but he can grow out of it with experience. Napier knows this and he's doing his best to coach him up and not sell him out. I would have sat him for a minute and then had Kitna run a few plays. Napier didn't and AR hit Pearsol for a nice TD. Shows what I know! The team is what it is. Some promise, some greatness, some inexperience and some injury. I see 8 wins. (Hopefully) The losses being Georgia and possibly Florida State. If we can run the slate that's nine, right, sans Georgia. Until we get more defensive bodies developed or recruited it'll remain challenging and frustrating. AR is still learning. He has so much to learn and he's so good as it is. There's so much pressure. I hope he can stay healthy and continue to mature along the way. He already is. It's easy to root for such a good kid. I enrolled at UF in 1973, since then there really has been only a few seasons where you could count on the team winning. Even with a lot of wins there were heart stoppers along the way. Us fans always seem to know more then the coaches. I think that has really only been true a couple of times in all those years! Nonetheless, it's great to-be a Florida Gator. Go Gators.
I have heard from several analysts and coaches that it takes at least 500 pass attempts for a college QB to develop into an NFL QB. Richardson has about 200 attempts and would not hit 500 this year unless we went Air Raid overnight. He may be on a few draft boards as a raw talent or gadget player, but with another year he could develop into a top QB.
lol so this dude on a message board can see all his deficiencies but somehow the pro scouts won't notice...
He's hurt a trying to hide it. He didn't attempt one run in the first half and only ran 3 times in the second. he was hurt again on the first run he made.
The ball went forward while the defender was hitting AR backwards. It's simple physics. Something had to make the ball go forward and that something was AR's hand.
Correct and if you look at evidence objectively the conclusion is that AR’s lower body is prone to injury. Last year he was hurt 3 times, one being his knee while dancing. Needed minor knee surgery. Other was hamstring. This year it’s been the ankles twice. Sprained ankle against EWU and anothet ankle hurt against Kentucky. Whenever a defender wraps up his ankles he comes up limping. In my honest opinion, AR knowing he is prone to lower body injuries is thinking NFL after this year unless he gets a horrendous evaluation. Anything in first 4 rounds and I think he’s gone. I personally do not think he is ready but believe a combination of believing the hype, buying into the NFL’s obsession with measurables, and fear of injuries will push him to make the jump.
I assume they didn't show this on tv but AR definitely went into the injury tent for a bit early in the second half.
I think it's the same ankle getting reaggravated repeatedly. Was originally hurt on first play of Kentucky game and he played through it (badly). Was very limited against South Florida and basically could not cut. He was feeling good against Tennessee and it showed. Reaggravated in the second half of EW. Did not run at all in the first half yesterday. Only chose to run three times in the second half and was hurt again on the first run.
Could be. He is tough playing through a hurt ankle but the evidence is clear that he is injury prone. I believe this factors heavily into his decision to go pro.
I'll stick with my 7-5 prediction and call it a success. AR and the defense- especially DBs -- far too inconsistent to expect more. That was not a pretty game (look at the stat cheat and wonder how the Gators won) but a win is a win. Play calling is dull and predictable but we found a way to win against a team that seems to find a way to lose week in and week out.
6-6, maybe 7-5. Any better and Napier should get COTY. It is what it is. The offensive shines at times but is inconsistent which requires an elite defense to save them. But it's the other way around and that is going to bite us over the next month. This offense isn't good enough to save the defense every week.
The pessimist in me came out when they had the ball and were driving late on, I wasn't the only poster who figured they would score and add a 2 point convert to beat us again! This is a real roller coaster ride and really we shouldn't be surprised with a new staff taking over a fairly ordinary talent pool, I have hope things will get better with recruiting and familiarity! Any win is great for us no matter how we get there at this point and although it is hard on the nerves it is such a relief when we pull it out, 3 of our 4 wins have come right down to the wire!
CBN is the right guy. My concerns— Mizzou has how many guys who start at UF- 5? 6? UF roster> Miz Playing at home Big improvement at RB and OL Allowing 3 huge 3rd down conversions is a huge coaching deficiency. Timeouts- 2 stand out. Yesterday’s was a head scratcher again. Game 7 on the way vs a guy who knows how to scheme
