Word Bobby. Gotta move quick in portal.
LT might be tough to get but for next year I expect 2 receivers and at least 1 impact oline. If there’s a tackle out there we gotta go all in. As far as receivers go gotta replace Ricky. Right now, I see one receiver back ( Tre) that can be an impact guy next year.

Not discounting Arlis as a target but we aren’t consistent throwing to TE. Jean, Mizell, and others are not sure things yet. Need a Keon Coleman or J. Wilson like guy.

A good first half vs Tenn and a good fourth quarter vs USCe.

And how fast they are on defense. They beat us to the outside consistently.

Im not sure if I would be more mad at being soundly beaten by FSU with decent officiating (fat chance) or clearly beat FSU only to have 5 game changing plays be overturned by awful officiating a la the Swindle. One way you have a year to recover and the other sits in your craw forever..... One thing for certain everything will be against us getting a win.

Controlling is stretching it a bit. We were keeping them off balance which opened up some holes. I was pretty certain that "Control" was going to diminish at some point. We weren't in a position to go toe to toe with them.

I thought the running play on 2nd and 12 on the 2nd drive was the first mistake putting us in a possible 3rd and long and it did. Was pretty certain we weren't going to be able to hold back a jail break on them. We just didn't/don't have the horses yet.

Then everything came undone on the 4th down play. I was thinking with everyone crowding the line of scrimmage maybe an attempt on the perimeter, not a gadget play.

To me gadget plays mean you just can't stand toe to toe. You have to use some type of gimmick. We showed our hand and it obviously backfired. It was just ugly after that.

Kirby started recruiting like that as soon as he got to Georgia. He must have learned a lot from Saban. Always found that peculiar. Also knew that with McElwain getting in the top 15 and Kirby in the top 3 was eventually going to make a huge difference.

So, are you saying that Kirby has figured out a way to get a competitive advantage by using his state legislature? Sounds like Georgia is just being Georgia.

Games like this bother me less, the older I get. I went into the game hoping for a win, but expecting a loss. It would have taken a combination of perfect UF play and Georgia mistakes to pull off the upset. That didn't happen. The margin for success is razor thin at this point in our rebuild with many starters being so young.

I am not upset about going for it on 4th down. We would all be saying how brilliant a call it was had it worked.

That being said, here are some things I would like to see done this off season.
    • I would like to see us hit the portal hard for offensive/defensive linemen.
    • I believe the OL coaching staff needs a revamp, but not until after NSD.
    • I want the OC not to be the head coach. I am not upset at the play calling like some are, just believe the whole team needs his attention at this time.
Recruiting is going well and hope it continues. We seem to be bringing in quality players who are also quality people. I can't recall any recent legal issues with players/staff (cough, Georgia) which is a good thing.

I’ve been seriously jaded on refs ever since. And there are exceptions of course, but Florida is far more often the team that gets the short end of crooked officiating. Make no mistake about it

I was just hoping for us to give a good account of ourselves. Last year we hung with them for awhile. Yesterday, that opening TD drive was effectively our last hurrah.

One thing that can’t be said enough. When you’re a top-shelf 5*-ish type player and you have multiple similar players right behind you clicking at your heels. It motivates most players big time, otherwise you get passed. You lift, run, practice and play harder, iron sharpens iron. Georgia has that everywhere, in spades. Florida has virtually none of that, right now, maybe at only one position, imho. It takes time too. This is Kirby’s 8th season as the HC at UGA. He walked into a near situation there, and blew them up into a monster, give him credit. Very interested to see what Billy & Co can do, it’s gonna take time though.

It was about 2 feet. Now think about that — the ball was spotted as a first down, it took them 5 minutes of review to overturn the call on the field, and after they re-spot the ball it’s almost a yard short. Who in their right mind would deny that was a crooked screw job from the very start?

based on the talent levels we had very little margin for error , we got a bad call and then a bad spot followed that up with a questionable play call , although it was not as bad a play called as I had originally thought based on the spot of the ball . We really had almost not change to beat Georgia this year 8 years of recruiting top5 classes , while we signed a top 15 class last year that was one of our highest in a while, if you really thought we were going to beat UGA this year well I don't know what to tell you , go Gators

Kirby has that killer instinct and I just don’t think Billy has that. He seems more like Richt which hey would get us to a stable place and winning 9 or 10 a year.

I used to tell all the GA fans I knew back then that they’d never win a natty with Richt as their coach because he lacked that killer mentality. Man I miss that guy.

You’re missing the point, we don’t have a coach who lobbies politicians in order to gain as much of an advantage as he can. UGA isn’t the only school to benefit from that law in Georgia, but he’s the one who got it passed in the first place. The main point is a lot of programs cheat, but a lot on here want UF to do it “the right way.” Well news flash folks, “the right way” hasn’t produced a national championship in decades.

And I was born and raised in Florida. I’m quite aware there’s a couple other big programs in the state.

I guess I’m one of the few who we thought we played and coached well. That’s a much better team than us. I wonder if posters on the McNeese St board were pissed at the coaching staff after the loss to us?

BN coached to win, rather than the conservative, 4 yard hitch base offense we were running earlier this year. Players played hard for the most part. Just a mix of us having too many babies on defense and them having better talent across the board

UGA had almost 500 yards of offense. I don't remember Beck being sacked. Many times he had plenty of time to pick out a receiver and step into his throw. This is a line of scrimmage game and we are miles behind UGA.
