It was a tweet from our backup TE, presumably in reference to how UGA uses their TEs vs how we use ours. In addition, the tweet came out during halftime- with the implication we have players using cell phones and social media during the game. Doesn’t really fit the “Napier is flipping the culture around, players are dialed in and focused, so much better than the Mullen regime when the inmates were running the asylum, etc” narrative you see mentioned here and elsewhere.

Unless you're a super team like Alabama or UGA, it's pretty hard for normal level teams to put huge numbers of successful pros into the NFL. These would be Muschamp's most notable offensive pros.

    2011

    Jeff Driskel
    Jacoby Brissett

    2012
DJ Humphries: Started 82 NFL games so far; has contract paying him over $20M per year
Max Garcia (transfer): Started 52 NFL games

    2013
Demarcus Robinson: Still playing in his 7th pro season.
Trenton Brown: Won a Super Bowl; made a Pro Bowl; signed contract over $15M per season

This may not seem great, but if anyone has overinflated memories of recruiting wins, it is Ron Zook.

I haven’t looked the stats up, but I would guess it’s their TE first half stats vs our TE first half stats.

There is this guy in the building who knows a thing or two about running a dynamic offense. Would be a shame to not get him involved in some manner. Even just a conversation with Billy about hey this is what works in the SEC and what you are trying to do might have worked in the sunbelt but too much speed in the SEC. Fingers crossed they have some beers, get hammered and have a heart to heart!

    Yep, he’s hurt.

I dunno that any player, injured or not, spouting off on social media in the middle of the game is a good thing. But maybe I’m just an ancient millennial who doesn’t understand technology and kids these days.

But was he dressed out, with the team on the sidelines? Or in the stands or at home tweeting this? If at home or in the stands..then how can people say it's on Napier? Now he should keep his mouth shut and support his coaches and team...I agree with that

2030s? I guess we're just not ready for that kind of technology on offense.

People get too hung up on offensive style.

With the right players and the right coaches, you could dominate the SEC with the triple option, wing t or whatever else you wanted to run. It's about good players and good playcall. The style is just dressing.

Keeping it real, we played our most aggressive on D and it resulted in 3 turnovers and more pressure we’ve seen all season. We gotta keep that up

I think those were all Meyer players.

But it is pretty wild how many offensive linemen who played under Muschamp had NFL careers yet none of the Zook linemen who all started on the 2006 championship team did anything.

If anything, it is about a simple read of the safety, or some other defender, and the QB and receiver recognize it without needing a Masters degree. But that is usually in the present. Give coaches enough time and they will find the counter that also does not require a Masters.

I hope so. The TE's are Mullens also although I think Zipperer is better than Zanders. If he stays and works on his accuracy, he can be a great one. We all want to see that happen.

You tend to say something than do the opposite. I'm not going to parse out the comparison arguments - you use them often but chastise others for doing so. This post is a good example.
Also saying " we would not win Conference USA" as you did in this thread referencing our team next year seems a bit negative to me. But we'll just have to disagree again.
Sleep well - we could very well end up being sub .500 and I will come back here and thank you for your logical insight.

Yep, for 1 full quarter of the game (3rd quarter) we played lights out defense... now can we do it for all 4 quarters..

I've got eyes? Franks was a good runner but not like AR. I'm disappointed too in his progress but I'm not sure how many defenders he has to punk or power by to convince people of his athletic skills. You're right, I don't know for sure he'll be any good next year but I'm optimistic.

Watch UGA #59. This is what constitutes as “blocking” now in college football. What a joke!

He actually held Cox on 3 different occasions on the same play...difficult to do. But with what the NCAA has done for College Football, maybe it is just time to cry Uncle and go to no contact flag football.
