What specific 7 teams on our schedule would the offense and special teams that we watched tonight beat. 2 patsies and……? I’ll spot you McNeese and Charlotte. Who are the other 5?
The Stat line in terms of time of possession, yards, … appear to suggest the teams were evenly matched. One team was better coached than the other. Observations: we performed extremely poorly on 3rd down offense. The running game was non existent with 5 new starters on OL. Pass protection was poor as well. Why have 2 OL coaches that can’t recruit top ranked Ol and don’t provide any difference on the field. Too many critical offsides and holding penalties by the OL. WR may be a good position for us and Wilson has a gear. Defense was improved but no pass rush. Safeties were often flat footed and a step slow reacting. This is the second year under Napier you can see that our special teams play is deficient and helps lose ball games. Two number 3’s on field for same punt play???? The Army is not working well.
It was nice we had 8 players on the field on tbe last FG. Hate to say it but it was the worst coached game I’ve ever seen
Utah's coach has done more with less and knows how to coach. Wished we would have poached him after Urban but I doubt he would have left Utah. I kind of feel like we've become UT of old as they went through a slew of underperforming coaches. I'm not sure we're even middle of the pack of the SEC unless things quickly improve. The jaw dropping was to 3's I've never ever seen that in all my life but here it is. That just can't happen.
Backup QB Utah missed 2 gimme scores. It could have been worse and likely will. Going to be a long year
Wilson needs to start at receiver... He is way too good not to start every single game. One other receiver need to practice for playing time.
I’d say this is the worst UF team in my lifetime, but I was too young to remember most of the early-mid 80s. Certainly the worst since 1989 and Spurrier rescued us.
When it comes to assistant coaches, they say that they are usually good recruiters or good coaches, but it’s difficult to find one who is both. Our assistant coaches are good recruiters. And, lots of us have said that if Napier doesn’t make it, at least our next coach will have talent on the team.
agreed, poor play calling and clock management "yet to see anything from Napier that gives me hope other than recruiting" and that can change in a hurry as recruits watch how this season unfolds.......
OK, well lets look at it from another angle then. What are the tangible benefits to the on-field performance of these CEO activities?
I am still with Coach ….did not expect a win . Still disappointed. On to the next game. Then we will take down Rocky top.
Bro this offense was toast when they announced Slaughter was in for Kingsley. All my excitement went out the window when they announced that shit around 4.
What did everybody think was going to happen? The Oregon State bowl game is essentially the starting point of where we’re going. Exactly what has changed such that the Gators are going into Utah to beat a ranked team? This is going to be a rough season. But just as I thought, people seem conceptually be able to accept a 5-6 win season, but realistically when you lose it’s going to look bad, and fans start talk about play calling and coaching. My biggest fear this season will go as expected and fans melt down as usual and recruiting momentum falls apart and we end up in the same place.
Will he, though? The reservations (no such thing as a “commitment”) will vanish and the best will be poached from the transfer portal in a heartbeat. It’s going to be a brutal few years, and that’s assuming the new AD gets the next hire right. Which they very well might screw up.
