That's a huge IF. We haven't put pressure on a pressure cooker, let alone any QB. We are ranked 110th in QB sacks and ranked almost at the bottom in number of takeaways, currently at 122nd with just 4 takeaways.

Not just that we won but the way we won. It’s like Billy was possessed and the Cocks needed an old priest and a new priest. Haven’t seen that sort of comeback in years.

 

Sure, pressuring their QB would be nice. But tackling their running backs would be even nicer. The game won't be close if we don't do that, no matter how much we pressure their QB.

 

I don't think though that Pratt ever was even in the portal. It was just speculation, and McCall wasn't an option because of grades, though he denied it.

Based on how Pratt has done this year, he does not look like an upgrade over Mertz, and McCall looks like he would be a major downgrade.

Mertz has shown that he knew enough football and played against good enough competition that he could be effective in a new system quickly.

 

In my eyes that is improvement, because when I watched the Utah game, I saw two bad teams, and we were on the losing badly end of it.

 

Go back and watch the last 5 minutes of our game with USCe... Go back and re-watch the Tennessee game too.

 

I try to keep it simple. UGa is going to try and run it down our throats and use up TOP and wear down the D-line. And then it would be up to Mertz/Napier to get into a scoring fest. Just have to keep Mertz upright.

I think UGa has a damn fine path to a nice victory. I just want them to sweat a bit before it is over. And no, I am not talking about heat and humidity.

Could be worse. America's darlings just few weeks ago, Colorado, has a defense ranked 130 out of 130. They also blew a 29 point halftime lead to a terrible team. Ya'll at least lost to a better team than Stanford.

 

Has Sapp been announced as kick returner yet or do we have to wait for the depth chart?
