Because we found a way to win doesn't diminish what I ranted about in the game thread. We don't tackle well, we are not aggressive enough on defense and we still make stupid mental errors. However, with all that we still FOUND A WAY TO WIN!!! Certainly looked like God really smiled on the Gators! Magic was happening at the end. The 4th down conversions and that tipped reception to Wilson. It seemed nothing like that has happened for this team in quite a while. I dare to say probably because the culture is finally changing. Light at the end of the proverbial tunnel. It would appear we are finally headed in the right direction. Thank You GOD!!!! Go Gators!
Pointing out flaws on a TD play is one of the most effective ways I've ever seen to prove you're flawed.
Since mine was directed at the soft coverage on third and long, I’ll leave it until the DC reads it lol. But what a win!
Well, it is likely in film review the coaches are going to point out this exact same thing. That is good football and good coaching.
It really is amazing how there are not just 5 great qb around the country. There may be dozens worthy of that label, and it is making for better games and more parity.
in case anyone else was curious, SIAP means “sorry if already posted”. Sometimes I fell like I have moved to the age where my grandma would ask me to come to her house to reset the vcr clock after every thunder storm.
Saw this: ======= Season: 1,897 yds (271 yds per game), 76%, 12 TDs, 2 int. Both ints hit receivers in hands first. 5-2 record w young team & leaky o-line. ======= Amazing how close he is to “0” interceptions, especially with the beating he has endured.
If we had Miami's coach Mertz would have stumbled on the 1 yard line with 3 seconds left on the clock... .
Mertz showed what he can do and the Oline gave him some time. Defense needs to man up! Great win in a tough place to play! Feels like the old Gators...tough and gritty. BN has begun to show why he's the HBC. GO GATORS! Class of'65
On that punt after the safety, the clock didn’t start till about 2 seconds after the SC player picked up the ball. They tried to help, but failed.
Im not sure what to make of the stats here - but we are 4th in SEC in total offense, 4th in pass/8th rush… have top 5 players in SEC stats at QB, WR, Rb… but we are 12th in scoring offense. im hoping the last couple weeks have been a real turn for this staff in what it means to be aggressive and score even when you’re not following the process … That just making plays is how you win sometimes and taking chances is ok. It seems like the emergence of ArliS at TE and taking deeper shots changes this offense dynamic in so many ways. But again, I felt this way after SOCAR last year… I chalk up a lot of the issues on defense to youth. I think they’ll be alright in a year or so
