Post-Game Discussion: FLORIDA at USCe

Great, great win! Lots of players contributed but Mertz definitely should get some extra credit. He made some crucial plays when he absolutely had to. I was somewhat disappointed in our defense; especially on third downs. Our blitz packages don't seem to be very sophisticated.

 

The best part about this win is the sad mad crowd just got a throat chop until pregame UGA.

 

Tuesday at midnight, and again at 11:00 am on the SEC Network.

 

The only thing holding GM and the offense back is consistent pass blocking. Hence, all the short throws to keep the offense on track and the chains moving. If the oline can generate 1-1.5 more seconds on the deeper routes GM will look much more like the player many on here have been clamoring for

It has been fun to watch the team grow in 2023 and Billy acknowledged as much post game. Its only 20 games into his tenure and despite the deliberateness of the process we are seeing progress

Let him stack up consecutive recruiting classes in successive cycles and watch the emergence of a PROGRAM not lightning in a bottle

 

One thing that really stuck out to me in this game was defenders slowing up when the first Gator got to the ball, then trying to catch up when the tackle wasn't made. Play until the whistle blows.

 

This game has to be an instant classic.

 

Since we are discussing SEC championships, let’s throw in 1985 as well

 

I live in Columbia. I went with my wife and in laws who all went to USC and are huge fans. I'm a UF grad. The moment they all started mocking the Chomp, I told them mocking the Chomp is a curse. They now believe me. If you saw a guy in Florida gear losing his mind in the middle of all USC fans, that was me. Go Gators!

Okay, here is the primer. This is NOT a "preview" where they use a bunch of snippets of the movie to get you to buy a "prime time" ticket to only find out that the snippets have NOTHING to do with the actual movie. This is all about the real movie and what I saw:

This WAS a change-of-course for this program. I won't say how fast and effective the change will take place, but it WAS a change.
