Says who? You act like a TD was an automatic result? If Max throws a pick or stops the clock twice, you'd probably blame Billy for that too.
He's already made one change at DC so I don't understand why people keep acting like he's unwilling to let people go. That said, I don't think AA is the problem.
I didn't post during the game but I will now... I want to cry. My heart hurts, selfishly for me, but truly for the team. I want us to get on track and win so bad. But, tonight, more importantly, these kids fought like warriors. We were a patchwork group that fought with indomitable spirit to the end. I feel bad for Mertz. I feel bad Brown and the team weren't able to come away with the victory. The kickers' Gator chomp made me wish I was on the roof with a sniper rifle. (But that's just me- I jest, obviously) There are a few things, like usual, I'd like to comment on, but out of respect to the coaching staff and the team, I don't want to soil this thread with any 'criticism'. These kids kicked ass tonight against all odds and nearly pulled off a big one. One thing you can see is the system is working and the future looks bright- I don't give a crap what anyone says. And, if that wasn't enough for some recruits... This Gator team played like a top 15 team tonight in an away game. Pretty impressive, really. We'd better get some duct tape, bubble gum and some braces, because next week Fla State comes to town and we still have a chance to win one more. It's great to-be a Florida Gator. God Bless the Gators. Go Gators.
They fought. And even had a chance to win with the backup QB who hasn't played a meaningful snap all year. Something to be said for that. Still, as a former coach said this week, "It's hard to get back momentum." Going to be one hell of an off-season.
It looked like a Hail Mary where the WRs bunch together. Very odd looking, so I agree with you there. Didn’t seem right.
Shane said on the broadcast during the TO prior to the play that it would basically be hard to screw this up - statistically 4th and 17 is so low a chance to convert. Basically he was saying we should have this easily. As soon as he said that I felt dread. Like "oh no... watch us find a way". And then it happened. Like a nightmare. Unreal. I've never been more embarrassed of a UF defense.
The announcer said that Missouri is being aggressive with the portal and NIL. The UF administration put the brakes on NIL activity, preferring to not make mistakes during this wild West period while other teams exploit things to the max. I bet they're doing the same thing with the portal and with preferred walk-ons. This is exactly the same attitude that occurred 15 years ago when UF football was hamstrung by the administration. Don't take your frustration out on the team or the coaches. Contact UF and let them know they need to lead instead of letting things play out and missing opportunities.
Team didn't give up. Saw a lot of toughness out there. Hope Graham can recover quickly. Max played his butt of with the circumstances he had. Staff just let the team down by stopping and playing for the FG after being aggressive with the run the whole drive. You can't give one of the fastest offenses out there nearly 2 minutes to work with to just kick a FG with a kicker who has hit a 61 yarder. Arky and Missouri will haunt this season. We'd be 7-4 and looking at a winning season. But too many mistakes and not playing to win cost us.
lol. Cmon man. We ran the ball way better that we threw it tonight. Running the ball WAS playing to win. You guys are acting like we had been torching their secondary all night. We got back in the game ON THE GROUND.
There is no way to convince you one way or another, but if we lose going for the win, so be it. I'm fine with it.
The offensive is not terrible, it just gets really bland at times and we tend to get away from our big play makers. The offensive line is hideous and #76 has been terrible all season. You would have to reason this is probably the main reason for our offensive lags.
Last few plays, the whole DL is looking to the sideline at the snap. Not set and not even participating. BS scheme if you don’t have a base play for hurry up and have your D captain option out. Is it not better to run a middle blitz or slant than to have 8 people stand there looking to the sideline as the ball is f’ing snapped?! Hate the concept of looking sideways at the snap. Sorry. Players- yay. Coaches-
When the pressure was on, he did exactly what had been successful and avoided the bigger risk. We were lighting them up on the ground. In every walk of life, that is called smart.
