Post-Game Discussion: FLORIDA at Missouri

Yeah, obviously our offense isn't perfect, but most aren't. For years, Florida won tons of big games with a headhunting defense and an average offense. Our defense is just really, really bad. Our offense could look good if our D
D would ever take charge of a game. I don't believe I've ever seen a worse Florida D.

 

It was a good game for the most part, if there is such a thing after a loss. 4th and 17. I opened myself up to hope for a brief second, and then the defense fell apart.

 

Impossible, their coach is a major league jackass.

 

Exactly right!

 

He did more than ok. He was 4/5 for 56 yards, 7 rushed for 42 yards, led a scoring drive, and converted a 4th down to lead the game-winning drive. That's why Billy shutting the game down with almost 2 minutes to go is so frustrating.

Scared money don't make money isn't conditional. Go. For. The. Throat. Playing it safe cost us.

 

Yeah it sucks, but I think the team played better than expected. Just look at the prediction thread. Defense and offense had their moments.

Still a lot of questionable decisions from the staff. Some players that need some growth or replacement.

Really interested to see what this team does next weekend. Both teams lost their QB/Leader.

 

He called what almost every coach at every level would have called with a back up QB.

 

Billy's plan worked perfectly...4 and 17 should be a 90% win. D still plays with a REALLY low football IQ. Gotta understand they are going to throw it at least 15 yards...easy to cover with 7 non-rushers. If you can't cover that, you deserve to lose.

 

I have to say that I loved the energy by our defense most of the game but especially in the first half. We set the tone for a fist-fight, and it was.

 

Fought hard and fell short. Story of the season.

 

Well at least when it didn't work they would have burned the last TO... but the coaches would've had no reason to believe 7 was going to go out of bounds either.

 

Just don't know what to make of this team. i have to be proud of the effort, but the final result!!!...such a winnable game...i guess the ghost of grantham likes to hang around this team...

 

Never happens if we don't settle.

 

4th and 17 wouldn’t have mattered had we not fumbled in the red zone.

Would have rather tried something to win, instead of turtling like we have in the previous games we have lost. That is my main issue with this staff. We coach not to lose instead of coaching to win.

Brown is a run threat, so if the pass wasn’t there, he had a better chance at running for the 1st down. Instead we ran into a stacked box, and got stuffed.

I think the handoff to ETN was late and he tried to make a play around the end and got forced out of bounds. Maybe he should have just fallen on it to make them use their timeout but I’m not mad.

 

I'm beginning to believe the when BN says Scared Money etc
, he's trying to convince himself. When the pressure is on he gets scared

 

Hindsight is always 20-20.

If we win then the Coach is a genius.

I think the coaches did a great job.

We were heavy underdogs to the number 9 team in the country ON THE ROAD and outplayed them all night. The last part of the game was played with a 2nd string QB with almost zero experience.

We should have gotten blown out but we came within inches of winning.

We should give the coaching staff and players medals for a great game.

If there is a such thing as a moral victory we just saw it.

We are going to win in the future (maybe even next week) and it is going to be big IMHO!
