Offense was pretty good last night. missed some opportunities. the Jackson catch was a catch IMO. the OL is not good. They were able to run the ball but most of that was the RBs getting the yards. Mertz did well, would have liked to see more guys involved in the passing game. The last drive, everything was forced and was bound to fail.

Defense- DL didn't get pressure. LBs are slow and took bad angles, can't take. Secondary, this might be the slowest and least aware secondary that I've ever seen at UF. Its hard to watch those guys and get excited. I would like so many of them to move on after this year. Pretty sure Marshall has played his way out of the draft discussion this year. His play has been well below expectations. Teams just abuse him now.

After several historically bad events this season on defense, I am really surprised our DC and other Defensive coaches all have their jobs still.

Any truth to the rumor that Jayden Daniels drove the Gators back to the airport ?

I loved Jeff Demps, still remember him splitting CB's and Safeties against UK like a bullet through ballistics gel.

I remember that game. Casey Weldon was sacked a number of times and when he wasn't sacked he was pressured almost every time he dropped back to pass.

Hoping for another win, but if not bowl eligible can the team still meet and watch football (SEC Championship) with no pressure on game prep while recruiting continues? There has to be burnout where the season is like living paycheck to paycheck and you don’t get to watch others.

That's actually a pretty good point. The drives were short, with 50+ yard plays consuming chunks of yardage. I saw our offense gassed at the end though. Boardingham was busting it.

Fair enough and we all hope so. I know our schedule is brutal but other SEC teams (Georgia) with traditionally easier schedules will also have tougher opponents with the new alignment. It’s going to be interesting and hopefully better for some teams.

We had very strong defenses in 2016 and 2019. In 2016 we had an outstanding pass defense, arguably the best in the country. And in 2019 the only team that really did what they wanted against us was LSU which was probably the greatest offense in NCAA history.

I think this is so true, regrettably. I had some doubts how much of a search was done. Surely, some nepotism and comfortability played into it. I don’t think AA was a hot commodity for DC positions at that time.

Take away Mcneese St and Charlotte
Against Power 5 teams...we are given up a average of 442 yards per game.

I expect a lot of the players that are starting on defense this year will be carrying Gatorade bottles next year. Very few of the defensive player showing any real improvement as the season wears on.
