What was it that they should have learned?

This loss to me is equivalent to Muschamps Georgia Southern loss, except Billy doesn't have a bunch of injuries to point to as to why he lost.

Well, you can get a damn fine foundation by recruiting. Who said he can't use the portal. He has fairly well.

If he was undercut that should never have been a penalty.

It was the Kentucky player that pulled the jumping uf player over the wall then to the ground

Georgia Southern came in year 3 for Muschamp and they didn't complete a pass did they? I don't put this on par with that...

UF is a top job but for some reason we're looking for the next shiny new hire. Not everyone is a Spurrier, Meyer or Donovan.

Tried it with Muschamp. Tried it with Mcelwain, tried it with Mike White. At least with them we didn't pay top dollar. Tried it again here but paid an obscene amount for the staff.

I'm still hopeful this hire pans out but next time let's spend a top 10 salary on a proven top 10 coach.

The thought of the style offense and philosophy eerily similar to Muschamp crossed my mind several times this afternoon

That 1st series of the game, when Johnson ran out of bounds instead of lowering his shoulder for more yards. I thought something was up with Johnson in the way of a injury or something that Napier isnt talking about to the media.......but my eyes open'd wide when I saw Johnson do that!
I believe there was a penalty on the play anyway, that negated the gain......but Johnson in the past would have never ran out of bounds on a play like that.

He did say we wouldn’t like the process.

He is correct. If you are not succeeding, the process is flawed.

I think a lot of folks thought his big weakness (other than OC) coming in was the staff. Something has to change. Remember we had to kick 5 field goals against Charlotte, 5. Cupcakes don’t count

A loss to Vandy would be apocalyptic. Gut check time for the program.

It was a garbage call and a momentum changer. We had all of those. Is There an analytic stat that shows game changing penalties? Not saying we should’ve won, but we got royally screwed tonight.

With the schedule they play, Kentucky may be lucky to reach 7 wins.

The poster I am replying to is suggesting that Billy could be Zook and the next guy would benefit from his recruiting. Im saying stockpiling for the next guy is harder with the portal.

And let me once again say I am not calling for anyone's head. Just taking another poster's suggestion to a conclusion.

And what's worse is it was against a defensive-minded coach who could completely pick apart and defend Billy's offense easily. Napier was playing checkers and Stoops was playing chess. It was plain to see.

Good post - address the issues w/o hyperbolic "fire the coach" freak out.
