We've seen this here before. Florida fans don't want to win the way Napier wants to win imo. We've seen too much good offense to put up with offense that plods along. We know bad offense. We know quick strike offense He gives us no hope that we can ever come back or outscore anyone. Imo, his offensive ideology is flawed... or maybe more accutely, his entire philosophy is flawed. Let him fill the coffers like zook. Colorado just scored.
He just looks blasé in game, a bit lost, and out of his league. Not exactly a huge motivator either. Sure he is a great guy though just not the IQ, temperament and most importantly, self awareness needed to survive an environment like ours.
I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again…coaches are as arrogant of a lot that you will ever see…too arrogant to change and unfortunately not smart enough to recognize it
We did go tempo a few times and scored points as a result. Should've went tempo all game, but maybe you are right, tempo may not be in our toolbox. But the few times we went tempo, we moved the ball and scored a TD.
UT is worse than expected and I bet UK turns out to be better than expected this season. Not a good look for us, I'm not on the fire BN train but I hope this loss makes him realize that he needs to change something fast.
Embarrassing, Gators are a laughing stock right now. We need: Totally revamped modern offense/coordinator Dramatic changes in Special team preparation Go hard on the portal (developing young players won't cut it if every other team reloads with veteran talent) This is feeling like Muschamp 2.0 except the coach isn't a one sided genius.
I dont believe he was attempting to leap over him. He leaped straight up and the Kentucky blocker under-cut him while he was at his apex of his jump causing him come down over the blocker....I thought it was bad call by the offical completely!
Let me be extra extra clear for the overlords that I am not calling for anyone's head. With that out of the way, there isn't going to be any more Zook style coffer filling with the portal, my friend.
They crapped the bed in the first quarter. But I do give them credit for hanging tough, there were moments where the game could have been back in reach. But just too much that is self inflicted to feel good about the outcome.
BN system is the easiest to learn, you have presnap motion for defenses to show their coverage. Kentucky used this to their advantage knowing what Mertz was looking for and tricked him on several occasions.
There's plenty of blame to go around.. Lol. I just wish our DC would have stacked the box. Who knows how this game goes if we make that one decision from the start.
It may be time for a reality check. I don’t think UF is a “top job” in the country. With UCF in the Big 12 now raises the power 5 teams in the state to 4. LSU is such an attractive job because they’re the only power 5 team in the state. Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee? Each have two and UT has to contend with Vanderbilt for in state talent. Not much of an in state threat there. The market is crowded in Florida and big time coaches want to coach perennial national championship contenders. We may just be a mid tier SEC program now. It’s a reasonable theory at least.
I also think the expectations next year need to change for this team. Maybe it’s just me but I think Florida teams hear the noise, and they play up or down to their competition, but I think they also might recognize that the ceiling for this years team is low so they don’t play to their potential. Maybe I’m wrong. A team playing with championship expectations plays differently from what we’ve seen. Not saying this team could’ve ever won a championship this year, but in an ideal world, the team wouldn’t know that. Ideally, they could be playing Georgia or Bama with the expectation of winning.
