BTW, Trent Whittemore has logged exactly zero receptions so far for UCF. In case you or shane were curious.

How about the fact that #7 is NEVER on the field to start the game? Yeah, we were awful today but why not start the game with your best player on the field.

It's by design, it's a laid back, take it as it comes, put on some Jimmy Buffet and lets chew some clock offense.

A newbie, strutting his military service, while bitching about the coaching staff. Lovely.

I would love to see the protection AR enjoyed last year with Mertz slinging the ball around. Hopefully, they gel sooner with Kingsley back full-time.

Or what? We are in wait-and-see mode, my friend. You might as well embrace it.

Starting to see a pattern here. Unimaginative play calling, terrible special teams, mental mistakes, and poor tackling. I agree that we can’t keep just firing coaches, but damn it is getting hard to keep the faith.

That's strange . . . since by all accounts the kids played their best half in the firsy half against UcheaT. Hmmmmm.

I don’t think he distinguished himself today.

The youth excuse also crosses over to the vets. For all the great things Pearsall does as a receiver, he didn't do a great job fielding punts today. Way too many times he let it go and watched it roll another 20 yards. It's like they are all conditioned to not take any risks (which I guess doesn't apply to Napier).

The only thing to me that is worth talking about is that Mertz was a really good pick up and used poorly at Wisconsin. Bad news for him is he is playing well, but the whole offense is being miss used.

The defensive line was man handled, but their running back was like Bo Jackson on Tecmo Bowl, so I do not know if it even mattered.

That first quarter sealed our fate and with how slow we call plays on offense if we get behind we will lose because time will run out on us.

I must say that’s the first time I’ve ever seen 13 players on the field. And we still couldn’t keep them out of the end zone.

I disagree w wait and see. Win 6 this year and it’ll be S. Florida hot. Big time boosters are and will heat powers that be up big time if this continues. 4 year thing is only true if Billy make progress. Right now he’s going backwards. Narrative everywhere else but this board is not realistic and honest= ugly and we will be lucky to hold recruiting class together.
I’ll not embrace being dominated by a team not in the top 25.

Mertz transferred into an offense that is not much better than Wisconsin.

Agree. BN has to do something or find something to make this year semi-successful. He would be wise to be proactive.

Mertz is classy. Takes responsibility and gotta give him credit. Wish our head coach would do the same.

I think I could have been a lot better for this team today," said Mertz. "I don’t think I played close to my best game, so, personally frustrated. It’s more on the front of I could have done my job better for everybody in that locker room. So, definitely frustrated."
