A microcosm of our offense was the last 4th down attempt when the receiver was open but ran a route one yard short. This team doesn’t have that much room for margin
Yup, asked a former Gator Great the other day about Montrell and not running hard. Asked if dinged up and I got the company line.
Whatever he did, Napier called it "a rookie mistake." Napier should know, of course, that rookies on special teams are bound to make mistakes when there's no one whose job is to coach them.
He’s a tough kid I know he’s not loafing. There’s something wrong with him and has been for weeks. I don’t understand not playing the most dynamic player in the backfield we’ve got more.
We have an OC. That aside, if Billy decided to give up play calling I think he's humble enough to let the guy he hired do his job.
Ding, ding, ding. We all knew we were a mess from Mullen, and frankly a number of years of other chronic problems, but a great coach comes in and puts his imprint on the program pretty immediately. Yes, there will most likely be losses and growing pains because of changes in philosophy, but you eventually see the identity of the team start to build and come together at some point, even if you still lose here and there. Can anyone say what our identity is 18 games into Napier's tenure? Has anything started to gel? Yes, we want to run the ball, but good gracious, after getting stuffed all game long, we again run the ball into a stacked box on 4th and 2 on our side of the field with the end of the game on the line. That is not seeing what's going on in the game. What we mostly see overall is the same inconsistency, mental mistakes, lack of offense, and poor special teams that we had all last year. The defense has had more positives than last year thanks to that coaching change, but giving up 329 rushing yards, 280 of those to one RB, and there's not much there either.
War Eagle! An Auburn win over the dwags would certainly lessen the sting of the Cat-astraphic gator game today. Currently 10-0 Auburn fyi
Billy is supposed to be a process guy. Attention to details and execution are supposed to be his coaching strengths. We had no attention to detail and lacked execution in all 3 phases of the game today. A new OC isn't going to change that. We are 16 games in with the same things game in, game out. Foley once said "What should be done eventually, must be done immediately".
Don’t think Billy strays too far from his identity he wants from the offense. That’s a slow developing plays , 3 yards here n there with all the WR running to the same spots . With all due respect
The (insert coach’s name) needs four more years so before year three he gets another extension and then fired after year four and Florida is on the hook for a massive buyout.
