    I’ll accept if it’s warranted. It wasn’t.

I agree, and some sad people here are diminishing his play by saying it was Samford, but those same people do NOT realize that those same passes that D.J. made look easy are hard as hail to make in practice much less in a live game.

He IS a great kid and he has played his heart out for UF, I have a lot of respect for him for that.

Not to take anything away from Lagway, because he looks completely legit, but we have seen freshman QBs put up gaudy numbers against teams like Samford, only to be brought back to reality once they face a real defensive line. He looked good, but I wouldn't get caught up in the stats too much. He needs to put up numbers like these against SEC schools before I'm a believer and yes, I do want him starting every game from here on. And no, I don't want Napier to talk to him at all. Just let him work with the offensive line coach, I don't care. Just keep Billy Napier away from this kid. He's got a cannon and a quick release.

This. It’s his ability to throw the deep ball that opens up the offense in a way that Mertz, god bless him, has struggled to

I think we’ll see both quarterbacks play next week. Mertz will probably start because it’s a bad precedent to send when somebody loses their job due to injury. But I think DJ earned significant playing time. And TAM you will have to plan for two different styles of quarterback play.

Lagway must start and Napier must stay out of his ear.

The OL is the worst unit on the team and you want him to work with the OL coach?

Listening on the radio I could hear the stadium announcer give many changes in jersey numbers. Is this normal?

I mean, guys, it's Samford. Let him at least play against a lower tier SEC team first before mentioning him in the same breath as Wuerffel and Leak.

There’s nothing that anyone’s eyes have shown them that they can say Mertz is the better option other than his “experience”.

That's one heck of away to start your career in college football.

Still an upgrade over the aforementioned.
