That’s all wonderful. You forgot the financial part of my statement. I can’t tell others what to do with their money. No one is paying that buy out so there is no sense in screaming at trees.
The last two games I have seen improvement in the D. Happy about that. The play on both the DL and OL need to improve. having said that, I carry a roster with me this year in order to know who is on the field. We are thin, we are very young and we played the 4th toughest strength of schedule in the country. FSU was #50. We are on our 6th coach since SOS. Time to give this one the opportunity to right the ship.
From the first game last season against Utah (where I thought UF looked good and played well against a very solid well coached team) to the last game of the second season against f$u - do you see significant marked improvement on the field? That’s the tough pill for me, I don’t, far from it actually. After 2 full seasons I see regression and a lot of dysfunction. Meanwhile all around the country other 1st & 2nd year staffs are thriving. Trust the process though, what choice do we have now..
The attempted flea flicker with great field position up 12-0 that blew up leading to intentional grounding was getting too cute when not necessary. When Tre Wilson got the initial handoff, I was thrilled, but when the second handoff came, I screamed "oh no". It was a travesty that Wilson only had a total of 3 catches and one jet sweep. Even worse was Pearsall only getting one reception. On a day when he needed 52 yards for a 1,000 yard season, a great accomplishment both for the player and the team. Later when Napier opted for a short field goal for the lead on 4th and one after a weak QB sneak attempt on 3rd and 1, showed the conservative playcalling. Shortly, thereafter we wasted a timeout trying to draw FSU offside on another fourth and short in our own territory. Everyone in the stadium including FSU knew there would be no snap. We need a real offensive coordinator badly.
I see inconsistency. We are definitely not trending in the direction of improvement. How I will break it down: 1. Offense- there is improvement overall however the OL talent, coaching, and performance are big hindering factors. 2. Defense- as inconsistent as it can be. Last night held F$U to 224. Two weeks ago pounded for 700 yards. 3. Special Teams- we are without the shadow of the slightest doubts WORSE than game 1 2022. Absolutely no question about it. We are 11-14 after two seasons. We are three full games under 0.500. We are a losing program. No other possible take on this situation.
How is it even that? Okay, defense played their asses off. Doesn't matter when the offensive coaching staff basically quits trying. Say what you want about Billy, but dude has ZERO killer instinct. And when he does show some ambition, blows it up with some dumbass trick play that surrenders all the momentum back to FSU. That was your game right there. Play action? RPO? Sure. That convoluted crap? . . . Decide for yourself.
I hope they do get in the playoffs. If they don’t, they can whine and say they were cheated. I hope they get completely embarrassed and prove beyond a doubt that they didn’t belong as a top 4 team. I want them to get the TCU treatment like Notre dame always gets.
I hope they lose to Louisville next week and they don't make the playoffs and have no argument they should be in. Much cleaner than your scenario.
And all that would be said is "If Travis was healthy..." I'd rather see them get snubbed because they are very obviously not the same team without Travis.
How can you credit our D for stopping FSU? They had a backup QB with little game experience that was not a runner. The UF defense falls apart against mobile running QBs. Gave up 500 plus yards to each of those QBs we played, including Arky. Look at Arky’s wins this yea. Look at how other SEC defenses stopped them from scoring. We should be embarrassed
Damnit. It was Independence Day that got me. “Upgrading to Defcon 3”. Tough to imply from that snippet if we were already at defcon 4 or 2. Its kinda like using the middle urinal when there’s only 3.
Max Brown had 15 rushes in the game. 2nd most in the game behind Montrell and Benson. what's crazy is we were better in most statistics. We had more total yards, better completion%, slightly better yards per attempt, way better 3rd down %, more rushing yards, better rushing avg, but the biggest difference on the stat sheet was fsu had 5 penalties for 22 yards. ( avg less than 5 yards a penalty, how's that even possible?) and UF had 8 penalties for 90 yards. Smh. as much as I wanted to win this game we still played as well as the #5 team in the country even after losing so many players (counting QB as a wash since both were out) we lost both starting RB's, our line was decimated, lost all our starting LB's ended up losing our starting CB (because of his dumb play) who else we lose? Anyway I was surprised it was as close as it was. And thank god we didnt get blown out. Oh well on to next year and hoping a good close to this recruiting class.
I would probably just start with sometype of hobby or something 1st. Heard heavy drinking is fun and works, you you can even vent to fellow bar goers kinda like therapy minus the whole couch thing.
