They were a problem last year, yet he failed to address it. Why should we believe he is to address all problems this off-season?
So worst winning percentage since 1949 but your OK with that as long as ON3 says we are top 5 in recruiting?
A back up freshman quarterback against the number five team in the country even if the defenses were identical, you’re not winning with Max Brown and quarterback, but we damn sure almost did i’m not happy with the loss. Everyone has already piled on, so there’s nothing new for me to say on the negative side.
Yes. And for how long are Gators supposed to be "good" with this?? 1 year ? 2, 3?? We used to be able to scrap out 7-8 wins in a down year and expect more the following!!?? But now we're told to hold on to multiple losing seasons while some "coach" plays analytics??!! It's beyond me I guess.
No, not in the least, I'm tip toeing a ban in voicing my displeasure with the results. Should have added /S or typed in green text, was definitely not a serious answer.
We had several starters injured and many freshman player/starters all year round. Yes, position coaching changes need to be made, but I am not yet convinced that Napier fully understands what is at stake if his ego gets in the way of coaching changes. If he does than he will make significant changes to the coaching staff. Hire a good quality OC that knows more about play-calling and momentum than he knows. That dumbazz "trick" play after the safety was ignorant and unnecessary at that point in the game.
I have been on this point for months, ST should be the easier problem to fix than OLs or LBs, yet nothing has been done.
that second half was brutal...napier doesn't have that "i'm gonna kick you in the nutsack until your eyes roll in your head " mentality at all...it's like he does not know about the importance of having momentum at the right time in the game..
Shhhhh.....we're not supposed to let on that the stakes are high....we're all supposed to act like we're all groovy with spinning our wheels, incompetent play calling, zero discipline, crap special teams play....shall we say not exactly spectacular player development....
I think many others know that the players are NOT the problem but that some of the position coaches are...
We do not have the players to compete for a National championship. But we damn sure have the players to not have a losing record, and certainly not in the fashion of these loses. Fans (and recruits I aassume) are looking for progress, not miracles. That is simply not too much to ask.
I'm always the optimist, but after reading through the thread here, I'm at least a little perplexed, but not surprised. We lost a game to a rival we really had no business beating. We played them close (that's the reality) and the young freshman that played were kicking ass and getting an opportunity to make freshman mistakes. And the reason they are playing, oh that's right, because we don't have a choice. Napier does some bonehead stuff at times; agreed. But none of what he did lost us this game. It's a confluence of things. Mullen, our former coach, has contributed to this and last years demise as much as anything- the former regimes piss-poor recruiting, and then Napier cleaning house. Vegas was absolutely right again. But we all decided to ignore the gambling seers that foretold the future. Hopium took over, once again. Crap, I think we're gonna win every game, every year. This blows! But I said last year, 2025 is the year. Expect more of the same unless we get some offensive and defensive beasts through the portal. And the incoming 4 and 5 star studs will need time; most of them. All of this losing sucks. It's depressing. But I was a UF student starting in 1973. Try that decade out for a reality check. FSU is overrated. If they make the playoffs it'll be an anomaly. An unranked 5 win team beat them up and made them look bad for most the the game. Moving on... The basketball team looks scrappy. In 2025-26 we could be looking at double titles again. Football and basketball. It will all happen when it happens. Unfortunately, not on our timeline... I'm finally realizing this. This is depressing. Go Gators.
yes very much so and it killed the momentum we had going. But we would have all been going crazy if it had worked!! lol
