This is why I’ve always loved Kiffen who now has 2 10 win seasons with less talent (star average) than we do… he would have crushed it here and everyone would hate us
lol I'm with you on that. I didn't expect much with just a week of practice with the 1's. Plus Thanksgiving, I'm not sure how much practice time they actually had this week.
BS, no one wants any of our coaches or players to fail. The vast majority of posters even root for players after they transfer, outside of those who burned bridges on their way out. I hate where the program is at, absolutely nothing fun about it.
Bingo. If your system is not working with your players, adapt! At some point when you deny reality and don’t adapt, you are just a cult leader preaching a failing message. Only hope is recruiting and major staff changes. Kids played hard but nobody can say they played smart, disciplined, and optimized football (giving them every opportunity to win). That is coaching.
It's almost a shame at this point in time. He wants to be the play-caller, but he is not even equipt to run different personnel-s on offense... like the 20... the 22... the 10 and the 00 personnel, yet he feels equipt to beat the truly genius play-callers out there. Is he willing to let someone else come up with these offensive plays and set pieces offenses? Hell even Muschamp used a 6 man O-line offensive line scheme to beat LSU at home one year... That is simple and yet we have never even tried to give our QB that kind of extra blocking help... Today proved that our Tight ends are woefully incapable of blocking certain defensive schemes. Creativingty is NOT A SCHEME THAT YOU READ IN A BOOK. You have to invent it, and we have not...
To be fair, there's a reason why Bama didn't want him. He was the worst offensive lineman over the past 6 years. My son told me when he hit the portal that whoever gets him will regret it.
George does look like the prototypical OT. Maybe how they are shaped is part of the analytics. JK, it has to be part of the puzzle but we do need serious improvement/development.
My favorite games were against the best teams... But if you are just talking about how we might fare in that schedule... well that might be a good point.
Whatever. Business is busines, and when we pay a guy millions of dollars, it's utterly asinine to happily accept 5 win seasons for fear of losing our multi millionaire compensated *professional*, and his enviable 5 wins a year. Seriously? How about earn your damn salary coach.
Almost identical stats, except for penalties and the scoreboard: College Football Florida State vs Florida Box Score - Nov 25, 2023
What's improvement at this point?? A "winning" season. We've lost so many we should have won I've lost count. And 99%of it is coaching blunders. How does it get better?? We have the talent. How much more talent do we need to not make all of these asinine coaching blunders? We should have won that game today. No excuses. None.
So our talent is losing record talent? SOS used to say good disciplined teams get lucky. Well, we are the inverse. Blaming all this on the players is inaccurate. We are young but this is not a losing record roster. Zoom won8, Mullen 10+, etc. If we won 7 that could be ok coaching and an ok roster. This is not that. The Arkansas game and these last 2 are just poor coaching.
Our players are becoming brilliantly experienced at losing. ...and we're paying someone millions of dollars to give them that experience. ???
