Georgia State scored 41 points vs Charlotte Maryland scored 38 points UF dominated offensive stats but had 2 TO's 1/9 on 3rd down conversions, 0/1 4th down attempts. Seemed like a lot of runs up the middle on crucial plays. This offense is a work in progress and time is short. The defense held up well. Probably one of the most boring games I've ever seen at the swamp. I think "Won't back down" was the loudest noise the crowd made the entire game. Go Gators
Our offense is run based on avoiding bad things, trying to do good things is way down the line behind making sure the clock runs.
I just don't get this level of conservative, and No I don't think it'll change with tons of 5 star athletes, this is DNA type stuff.
Was that just an “honest” opinion? Sure seemed like he was stating it as a fact. The “reality” is it was just as likely Toney was asked to move on as it was that he was poached. Miraculously another coach that everyone wanted replaced also found a new home. I’m sure that was just lucky on our part as well.
His offense wasn't bad at Louisiana, and last year he averaged the exact same points per game as Mullen did in 3 of his 4 years here and people keep praising Mullen as a offensive guru and master play caller. Trasks 2020 year was the outlier
Spot on. It’s the way this team is ran and the philosophy. We may never be an offensive juggernaut but a few tweaks and some well-timed risks may actually show something and result in some more points. The only other way this may change is if we get a QB who likes to freelance and makes his own plays to move the ball
UK gave up 28 to Vandy. they scored 45 but 14 was from 2 pick 6’s, UK got another score off a Vandy TO UK isn’t that great. Their QB was like 15/29 for 1 td 2 picks and 205 yards
Yeah Toney didn't exactly get a promotion depending on your perspective i guess, he went from a DC coordinator job at a prestigious P5 school to a position coach on the cardinals. Didn't exactly do what Dan Quinn did which was turn the UF DC job Into a HC position in the NFL
1. Toney had a history of being better the 2nd year IIRC so he likely would have gotten a second year. 2. but even so Billy recognized Armstrong's talent and made the right call. He gets credit for that. 3. 100% chance he was trying to be vanilla tonight. The RZ offense struggled, but Williams tripped over air on one would be score. Just sloppy letdown stuff.
Last six quarters not good enough to consistently win. Seems that we do not know how to play when we are ahead or when all is looking well for the gators
There were people on the game thread saying UGA was struggling with UAB to justify how we were doing, but in the end UGA won 49-21 and was 6/6 in the red zone with 6 touchdowns. Far cry from our 4 red zone FGs.
The Tigerdroppings Gator board might actually be the best one. Not a bunch of overly negative loons and not policed to death like...well, you know...
