“I am trying to keep sunshine pumpers from challenging my level of ‘fandom’ when I timidly offer this gentle criticism……”
Florida’s offense took 62 snaps against Charlotte. Florida’s defense was on the field for 55 snaps against Charlotte.
I am not saying I agree or disagree with this statement, but HC of the Florida Gators is not a WIP role.
Describe succesful if your not winning. It all depends on who they are playing. If a offense full of 3 stars is playing a top tier defense like UGA, Michigan etc they are not putting up (using your example) Washington type offensive numbers regardless of what kind of offense they run. Your post don't make a shit of since. At some point talent trumps coaching and scheme. Now if your playing a scrub schedule then sure but a offense void of top talent will not be successful in a conference like the SEC and against the top teams in the big 10 etc. And if your not winning how is it successful? Will putting up decent offensive numbers but not winning keep a coaches Job? Would he be successfull if he scores points but has a losing record because he didn't score as many as the more talented teams he played ?
Solution: Secure the ball. certainly a helmet on the ball is hard to prevent, but guys with the ball out to the side needs to be worked on. The one Mertz had just happens, better blindside protection.
Here we go. Anyone who criticizes suddenly is the bad guy or “volunteering to coach”. Have you ever had insight on how your boss does things? Local politician? Vote for someone then criticize? Why don’t you run for office? Volunteer at local non profits to affect systems change? your point is ridiculous. You can have insight and criticism without “being a genius who needs to coach”. We are all seeing the same thing. Fans, analysts etc and btw… recruits are seeing it too
I thought he was talking about UF defensive players not being able to secure fumbles. They seem to bounce away from them. Could be wrong
2020 UF's offense was successful. We had good skill position talent with a couple studs, Trask & Pitts. The OL was not great, the run game was suspect, yet we were putting up points enough to compete with anyone. We were 8-4 against a very strong schedule because the D was horrendous. It has been less than 3 years since UF was the perfect example of my entire point. At some point talent trumps coaching and scheme. Then what is the balance, how much is talent vs scheme? (ex 75-25)
He's the kid that allegedly sexually assaulted two girls in one night, was run off because of it, caused his roommate Steele to bad mouth-to the press- the way UF and Mullen handled the situation, which Steele then used to bail out and go back to California. That's a brief summary.
Parroting the buzz words "modern offense" is a big red flag for me re a posters credibility. And btw, you know "recruits are seeing it too"? Care to share..
Trask was the only anomaly. Shorter was a 5* , pitts a high 4*, toney was as electric as weve seen in awhile , Trevon grimes was a 5*, x Henderson high 4 *, Jacob Copeland high 4*, Keon zipperer and Kemore gamble both 4 *. Damien Pierce was that dude, Iverson clement was a 4 star* Malik davis and nayquan wright both 4*. There was talent surrounding Trask. And its been said for ever on here that Trask was an odd outlier that the services completely ignored due to him backing up highly rated D'erik King in HS and Texas transfer rules preventing him from changing schools in order to start. Let it go bro .
So, when I said "We had good skill position talent with a couple studs" you took it upon yourself to list all of them to prove me right? Still looking forward to that balance number, talent vs scheme.
I didn't prove you right 4 and 5* players are considered "Blue chip" players which are needed to be successful. I'm still waiting on you to tell me what you define as succesful. You mentioned Washington who has not won anything of significance is decades, as your example of succesful. so is just having good passing numbers considered succesfull in your opinion? Because at UF as you have witnessed, that won't cut it around here, in part because of the succes of both Spurrier and Meyer winning titles and SEC championships.
You said before yesterday what was different and I pointed out last week Smack came in and made all three kicks. They was before yesterday.
