The whole team doesn't work. There is no fire!!!

 

it took Smart 6 years to win a TITLE but they’ve represented the SEC in the SEC title game 6 of the 8 years he’s been there.

And before you use the talent he walked into he got from Richt (and that’s understandable), Richt’s UGA teams were not as physical and fast as Kirby’s teams. Richt wasn’t recruiting DOGS like Kirby has gotten and developed his kids into. That starts with the HC.

 

Look at some of ULL's wins in his last season - 3 pt win against Nicholls, 2 pt win against South Alabama, 1 pt win against Arkansas State, 4 pt win against Georgia State. All while having the best talent in the conference and a very experienced team.

While I love what he's doing in recruiting this year, he's not gonna out talent everyone else in the SEC most years. Especially not with Oklahoma and Texas also coming in.

 

We need to clean house with our starters and put in younger players the rest of the season to get them some playing experience.

What is even more concerning is fan apathy. This is an overall decrease in interest with the program because of so many years of mediocrity.

We go into each new season with low expectations and that is sad for a program in Florida which is a talent rich state for HS football.

 

The 2-point attempt in the 3rd was the most blatant evidence of poor coaching. There’s simply not a good explanation for it. You can explain a substitution penalty in a hurry up scenario. Still not good, but it’s explainable. There is no excuse for the 2-point try.

 

Louisiana- Lafayette WERE FBS when Billy was there, in a G5 conference. They weren't FCS. Both Bowling Green and Utah were G5s as well...

 

I loved seeing the Arky defenders trying to always rip the ball out. It paid off. I think I saw one UF defender try it once.

 

Wasn't a two point try, it was a blown play on a botched snap.

 

Zook record: 8-5, 8-5, 7-5. Looks pretty nice about now.

 

Smart took UGA to the national title game in year #2. Give us all a break, man.

 

We got our butts kicked on both sides of the line. Rinse and repeat. Week and week out same old story.

 

No, we were trying too, unfortunately we were not able to tackle at the same time and it gave them lots of extra yards after contact.

Ahhh.. so they were trying a PAT and botched the snap? Well then, that makes me feel… well, not really better, but it’s good he’s not a total clown.

 

We all wanted Georgia under Kirby to be a "house of cards" but the dude was not only just bringing in #1 classes every year, he was and is one of the best defensive minds in the game. Billy is a below average offensive coordinator in the SEC.

 

Sad but true. Zook was a good recruiter, but couldn’t coach his way out of the paper bag.

 

At least we were competitive I guess. Wait ‘til next year!

 

And nor do his teams and I think that, a long with actual coaching, is one of the biggest problems plaguing the team.

Dabo gets fired up in the press conference and then they come out next game and take down ND. I don't think we'd have either outcome.

 

Arkansas scored 3 points against Miss. St. in their last game and put 39 on us today. The defense can't cover and they can't tackle, plus they get less than average pressure on the QB. The special teams miscues, the ongoing bad offensive line play, the lack of in-game adjustments and the questionable play calling continue to plague this team. We went 6-7 last year and will go 5-7 this year, barring some type of miracle against Missouri, LSU or FSU. I see very little, if any, overall improvement over last year in the quality and consistency of team play. We will be very fortunate if this year's recruiting class holds together and it will be very interesting to see how many on this year's team hit the portal. I'm getting less optimistic about the future of this program week by week.
