The sonar scans look very promising. The shape is correct as are the dimensions. It's in 16,000 feet of water within 100 miles of Howland Island, one of their stops in their (Earhart and her navigator, Fred Noonan) attempt to circumnavigate the globe. They have been missing since July 2, 1937. Did sonar finally uncover Amelia Earhart’s missing plane?
One of my first jobs out of high school was fueling and parking planes for Dolphin Aviation in Sarasota. Dave Allen who owned Dolphin Aviation had a collection of antique aircraft. One of them was a Lockheed L10 which was pretty much the same model as Amelia Earhart's, I think hers was an L10B. Anyway I used to fuel, hangar and clean Dave's aircraft. Remember the L10 quite well. I never got to fly in that aircraft, I did get to fly in Daves B25 bomber once though. Quite a thrill.
