You second paragraph is likely the reason for all the self reflection from a lot of journalists, which you do not normally see. They see their lack of curiosity about Biden's mental condition as a new permission structure to start asking about Trump's mental condition at all times.

Having a senile leader is NOT "how a democratic republic falls". Certainly not if there are qualified and capable people around the leader. The idea of people running the country "from the shadows" and destroying the country doesn't really fly when your government has checks and balances built into the system. If the executive branch ever got too crazy, and the Supreme Court couldn't or wouldn't rein him in, then Congress can impeach the president. Problem solved. Having a senile leader is bad for the country--I'm not saying it isn't--but it's not the end of the world, or the end of democracy. The country is undoubtedly weaker without a functional executive, but not automatically prone to collapse, as the U.S. demonstrated in 1919.

Woodrow Wilson had a major stroke in early October, 1919, and was incapacitated for the rest of his term. Edith Wilson has been described as the "first female president of the United States". No one close to Woodrow Wilson was willing to certify that he was incapacitated, even though he clearly was. His personality changed, he developed emotional disorders, a lack of impulse control, and poor judgment. Remember, the U.S. was going through a transition from a wartime economy to a peacetime economy, and the Spanish Flu was raging at about that time, so it was a difficult period. The republic did just fine.

    Woodrow Wilson - Wikipedia

There are, I'm sure, far more examples of the J6 variety bringing down a democracy than a senile leader. Germany in the 1930's with Hitler is one example. Mussolini used secret police to remove opposition and consolidate power to prepare for his dictatorship.

I didn’t say having a senile leader was the issue.. as I’m guessing you well know. The issue is that our democrat party leadership LIED continuously to the voting public so that THEY could keep power and keep running the country from the shadows.
They knew Biden was incapable. They knew he was senile.. and yet they lied to the citizens I. A hope to stay in power. That is how we lose our democracy racy. When one of the parties conspire to lie and cheat the American voters out of their power to select our leader .Biden was hidden. Biden was “managed, Biden was controlled like a puppet. He was not the leader and Pelosi, Schumer, Obama etc.. all knew it… and chose to routinely lie to America.

You mean Trump's criminal conspiracy to overturn an election, right?

    - Which included constant lying about fake fraud, fake elector slates, coercing state officials, coercing the VP....

Oh, that's not what you meant. Because you apparently have no problem with that. You mean something like...Biden's staff not holding press conferences to try to convince people that he was senile?

Hilarious. You MAGAs are beyond parody.

Please find anywhere I said I was ok with Trump.. in any way.
    Now
You are ok with the democrats lying to the American voters so that they can retain power and keep a figurehead as president while others control our nation from behind the veil? You’re ok with a party purposefully lying to everyone about the cognitive acuity of the president … the most powerful man in the world.. while they secretly control him? Your ok with the theft of the American people’s choice of who leads us?
